Easter Eggs

We went to Shelley and Tyler's for Easter.  We got there late Thursday night.  We were so excited to see them and to see their house!  This was the first time we had seen their house since they moved in last April.  It is a beautiful house and they are getting settled and making it a home!  My parents arrived Friday afternoon to absolute delight of all the gandkids!  We dyed Easter eggs Friday night and the kids loved it.  Quinn was already in bed so she missed out on the fun - always next year!

Tuesday Morning continued!

Last Tuesday morning all Quinn wanted was to be held.  She was not happy that I had to pack Sage's lunch and make breakfast.  I had to slide a chair into the kitchen so she could sit by the counter as I made Sage's lunch and breakfast.  Quinn decided to not eat that morning.  She was all out of sorts.  We dropped Sage off to the bus and ran to Meijer to get a prescription at the drive thru pharmacy - I surely wasn't crazy enough to bring her into a store that day!  We got home and I brought all my workout stuff upstairs.  I got a workout in and she played on the iPad on the couch.  After my workout, I put a show on for her and I was making my breakfast.  I looked over and she was fast asleep on the couch.  She never falls asleep anywhere but her crib or occasionally the car.  This poor kiddo was not feeling good.

Snoozing & snoring away!

Big Sister Love

Last Tuesday morning was a rough one.  Quinn was unhappy from the moment she got up. At one point before Sage left for school I looked over and Sage was watching a show with Quinn.  When I walked in the room Sage said to me "She just needed a little Love Mom."  My heart melted!  What a good big sister!

Beads & Cookie Cutters

With Sage being sick and then Quinn being sick we have been spending lots of time at home.  I have had to get creative with activities to keep Quinn occupied.  One day last week I got out some beads to string and some Easter cookie cutters and Quinn made her own activities.  These kept her busy for a long time!
This cup was from the Egg Hunt that she had to miss and she loves it!   She first was stringing the beads then decided it was more fun to fill the cup and dump it out!

Easter cookies cutters are so much fun - especially when they are in a metal bowl and make lots of noise!

She moved from filling the cup with her hands to using the wooden spoon. She was getting good at this!

Egg Hunt Fun

Sage and I went to an Egg Hunt this past Sunday.  It was put on by our new friends Dana and Josh.  We had so much fun! We wished Quinn and Daddy had been able to come to, but since Quinn wasn't feeling good they stayed home.  The egg hunt was at a gymnastics gym.  The kids first did the hunt and then got to play on all the gymnastics equipment.  Sage loved all the gymnastics equipment.  I can see some gymnastics lessons in our future.  Sage came home with all sorts of goodies: personalized Easter bucket and cup and all the stuff inside the eggs.  She loved it!
Getting ready to hunt for eggs!

Each kid was given a certain color egg to look for.  It made it really fun!

Sage had the color red and had so much fun finding her red eggs!

After they hunted the eggs they lined up and handed their buckets off to the parents and went and played!

There was tons of cute decorations for the party and these giants Peeps were my favorite!

Look at that air!

She loved this bar!

Car Wash=Scary

This past weekend we ran a few errands to get out of the house.  One of those was to get my car washed.  It was dirty!  Quinn has never liked the car wash and usually cries when we go through it.  There were no tears this time and she only had to hold my hand for just a minute.  She did however grab the doodle-pro and hold that over her face so she didn't have to look if she didn't want to.

Fun Dressing up!

There was lots of dressing up in costumes at our house last week.  Quinn is really getting into all our dress up stuff.   Sage is more than happy to play along.

Stuck at Home

Last week Sage was home sick from school - ALL week!  It was a long week for us all.  Quinn got sick on Wednesday as well.  Sage was on three prescriptions and Quinn is on two.  Quinn is slowly getting better.  It wasn't nice enough to be outside yet so we were stuck in the house for over a week.  We were all going crazy!  To give us something to do on St. Patrick's Day we put away all the decorations and put out the Easter decorations.  With those I found a bunch of Easter crafts.  It was nice to have something new to distract the girls.

This is how we all felt after being stuck inside all week!

She did have fun with the Easter stuff even if she doesn't look like it!

Heidi's 40th

For Heidi's 40th she wanted to have a 5K!  It was so much fun.  Some walked and some ran the race but we all finished!  There were six stations on the race course:  Hot Flash Freeway, Osteoporosis Alley - all six having to do with aging.  After the race there was a pot luck and party!  It was held at the VFW Hall (the start/finish of the race) - can't go wrong with $4 pitchers of beer - good for the budget!!  Amy Sue planned the party and all the stations for the race and she did an amazing job.  After most the guests had left our crew stayed behind and cleaned up the party.  We then went to bar downtown to continue the party.  What fun we had celebrating Heidi!
The birthday girl and her hubby Tim!

Our crew:  Amy Sue, Shelley, Me, Jennifer, Heidi, Michele, and Elise

Shelley and Elise ran the race.  After they finished running they came back and walked with those of us that had ran/walked the race.

We had to have a little fun with the photo booth!  I am on the far left with the big green sunglasses.

CMU Visit

This past weekend I was able to get away for some fun with old friends.  Heidi turned 40 and on our way to the party we stopped at CMU for a visit.  We went to the sorority house and sat on the swing in the front yard and walked around campus a little.  Campus has changed so much and it was fun to see it!

Sitting on the swing at the Sigma Kappa house.  So thankful for these girls and to Sigma Kappa for bringing us together almost 20 years ago!

Library Selfie

I love going to Library Time with this girl!  She keeps me on my toes even during our library time.  Quinn is one busy girl!

Spring - Maybe???

It has been beautiful here the past few days in the low 60's!   We have been plying outside every chance we get!   That is why Sage's cheeks are all red.  She was running around outside.  Spring might be here, but you never know we could get snow again!

Peg Board

We have turned the bar cabinets in the kitchen into crafts and activities cabinets for the girls.  There are crayons, coloring books, counting bears, beads, pipe cleaners and more!  This peg board that Quinn is playing with in the pictures below is also over there.  She has been playing with the peg board at least once a day for the last few weeks.  She goes over and gets it out herself - she then needs a little help putting the picture in but then she does it all on her own!

Snow Day Fun

The last few weeks have been a bit crazy. Last week we had two snow days and Sage was home sick one day.  The week before that we also had two snow days.  Talk about cabin fever - this Momma was ready to get out of the house.  To help pass the time we did some St. Patrick's Day activities.  I pulled out some shamrocks and gold coins and the girls got to work!  Sage used them for math problems doing addition and subtraction.  Quinn used her two bowls to separate the shamrocks and coins.  It was a fun activity for both!

Love the look on her face in this picture!
