Books, Books, and More Books!

We love to read to Sage and she loves it too!  We read before every nap and every bedtime.  We usually read for at least 20 minutes right before her morning nap.  It is one of my favorite times of the day.  Sage and I cuddled up in the recliner reading together.  This picture was before bath time on Sunday night and she was enjoying one of her favorite books, The Going to Bed Book.  We read it every night before bedtime.  

Fun Times!

This was taken last night during Sage's bath.  She has so much fun during bath time.  She splashes us both and gets us all wet.  She is now crawling all over the tub to get her toys.  Her favorite bath toy is the one in her hand in the picture.  It is her hermit crab squirt toy.  She loves it!  Of all the toys she has in the tub she always goes for this one.  I think it is time to get her more tub toys!  

New Toy

Sage has really been enjoying her new toy.  It was a deal at a garage sale for only $2!  She loves her new toy, she can ride it, pull up on it and even chew on it.  This little toy does it all!   She has been chewing on everything in sight.  More teeth are on the way!

One Year Ago...

One year ago today an amazing medical team and heart surgeon saved Reese's life.  But it is Reese's determination and strength and the support of our family and friends that have gotten us through this last year.  Thank you to all who have been there for us - we appreciate each and every one of you.  We truly feel grateful for each day we have as a family.  We are going to enjoy this day and celebrate the fact that we are all here to see it.

Swings!

We took Sage outside and tried a swing for the first time on Sunday night and she loved it!  So we took her outside and went on the swings last night to!   I have a feeling we will be using the swings alot.  She had so much fun and so did Reese and I. 

Straw

On Friday night we went to Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner.  It was the first time we had been there with Sage.  It was perfect, all sorts of stuff to keep her attention.  The loud music, all the televisions, and the neon signs.   She could be as loud as she wanted and she definitely was loud!  Sage also used a straw for the first time and did great!  Here she is taking a drink of her water.  She is growing up so fast!

Stairs

On Wednesday, Sage found the stairs.  Reese was right there with her as she was climbing, she made it to the third step on her first attempt.   Looks like I have to find a gate for the bottom of the stairs!

Creation Cafe

Last Saturday we went out to lunch with Kelly and Jason.  We tried a new place, Creation Cafe, we all loved it!  Here are a few pictures from our lunch.  We had a great afternoon!

Reese and Sage were having a great time playing after work today.  Here they are playing around.   You can see the sheer joy on each of their faces!  Seeing these two together just makes me smile!

First Real Meal!

Last night Sage had her first real meal - no baby food!  This was a big occasion in our house!  I know this isn't as exciting as some of my other posts, but I wanted to remember this.  So I took a picture of her meal: sweet potatoes, kiwi and cheese.  I also took a picture of Sage eating her meal!  I have to thank Shelley for all the tips and suggestions she has given me for foods for Sage.  It is so nice having Brady and Sage so close in age, we are going through all the stages together.  Brady is a much better eater and eats alot more than Sage!

Church

We were on our way to church this morning and Sage and Reese were waiting out in the car for me.  Sage was having a great time in the car.  She was very happy she wasn't in her seat yet!

Nine Months!

WOW, how time flies, Sage is nine months old today!   She is a whirlwind of activity.  She doesn't like to sit still as seen below in the pictures.  She is crawling everywhere and getting very fast!  We have her nine month checkup on Monday.  We can't wait to hear all of her stats and see how big she has gotten in the last three months.  Hope you all are having a wonderful Saturday, especially Mimi and Pop-Pop, we hope you are enjoying your anniversary today. 

Fun with Kelly!

While Shelley and the kids were here Kelly came over to visit.  We had a great night and it was nice to catch up with Kelly.  It had been a few weeks since we have seen each other.  We are going out for lunch today with Kelly and Jason - we can't wait!

Visitors!

We had some special visitors this week, Shelley, Corvin and Brady!  What a fun few days we had!  And WOW were we busy with the three kids!  To all my friends out there that have 3+ kids - you are all amazing!  We hung out inside since it has been so hot here.  We went to the Children's Museum and Corvin loved it!

Nap Time

This is what greeted me after Sage's afternoon nap yesterday.  I just love this little one so much!  She has such a fun personality and more comes out each and every day.  

Pulling Up...

We were so excited to see Sage start crawling but we didn't think she would start pulling herself up so quickly after crawling.  We went for a walk this morning and when we got back we were playing in the family room.  Sage decided she wanted her sippy cup that was on top of the coffee table.  So she went over, pulled herself up and got it!  She has started sitting up on her own in her crib.  Time to lower her crib again!   The picture below is Sage pulling herself up on our dresser.  I was making the bed and she was playing with a toy until the dresser drawer looked to be a better toy! 

Bath Time

We have lots of fun with Sage during bath time.  There is now a new part in the routine of bath time.  I get the bath ready and we use a little duck tub inside the bath tub.  The duck makes a fun quack noise and Sage loves it!   Reese would carry her down to the tub after she heard the quack noise - she would get all excited ready to leap out of his arms into the tub.  Now when she hears the quack, she crawls to the tub, it is so cute!  Here are a bunch of pictures from Friday's bath.   There were so many cute pictures I had to include a bunch!

A good visit!

Last weekend we went to Chicago to visit friends.  Thanks Elise for letting us stay with you!  We had a great time.  We also got to visit with Tad, Geri and their kids.  We had a fun day with them.  I didn't take very many pictures but I did get storytime with Elise.  Thanks Elise for all the time you spent with the kids!

Teeth

Sage is getting more teeth and she has been gnawing on anything she can get her hands on.  The other night it was her bottle.  She had no interest in drinking her bottle - just chomping on it.  If you look closely at the second picture you can see the two teeth she has on the bottom!  I have been trying to get a picture with her teeth - finally!

Toothbrush

Since Sage now has two teeth she needed a toothbrush! We got her one - a hot pink toothbrush!  She loves playing/brushing her teeth.

Crawling!

Well it is official we have a crawler on our hands!  Sage has been crawling since last Wednesday.  She is loving it!  She can go anywhere she wants.  I haven't gotten many pictures yet and we still need to do a video - those will be coming to the blog soon.
