ABC's

ABC's is a song that we hear alot these days.  Sage loves to sing it and loves to have us sing with her.  I finally got her on tape singing!  Love it!

Decorations

When I put out all the Christmas decorations Sage was really good about not touching them.  She even left the tree alone!   She would look at all the Christmas stuff we had out and say "Decorations"  This weekend I asked her is she wanted to help me decorate for Valentine's Day and she got so excited!   Most of you that know me - know that I decorate for every holiday!   Sage had alot of fun putting out the decorations for Valentine's Day.  For each holiday I like to put something in her room.  She chose the Valentine's Day banner that Nana made her!

We are all set for Valentine's Day!   I have a bunch of fun recipes picked out for Sage and I to make some sweet treats!

Starting to Potty Train

Sage hasn't shown much interest in potty training.  Each night before her bath we have her sit on the potty and try to go - hasn't happened yet.  She likes to flush - her favorite part.  Each time I ask her through the day she doesn't want to go.  Well on Monday morning this week she asked me if she could go on the potty.  Of course she could!   She did go and she got 2 M&M's as a treat.   She hasn't gone on the potty since.  We are still trying.  This picture was from her bath last night.  She likes to read and wanted Daddy to read with her!   She even had to switch books with Reese!   Wish us luck on this potty training adventure!

Fire Chief Sage!

Sage got this hat from Brady's birthday party.  When she first got it she didn't play with it.  Now it is one of her favorite toys.  She always takes her bow out and then puts the hat on.  She has been putting the hat on and grabbing her stroller and then makes a circle around the house.  She looks at me and says "Follow me Mommy."   I have been following her alot these days!

Her stroller is usually stocked with both purses and the mail gets delivered to various parts of the house!

Naptime

Naptime today was a little bit of a struggle.  Sage was pretty wound up and didn't want to go to sleep.  She asked to have a book in bed with her and I said sure.  She wanted her "I Love Daddy" book and she fell alseep holding it.  I had to get a picture of her - it was just to cute!  She woke up after just an hour and Reese went in to get her to go back to sleep.  She did fall alseep right on her Daddy's chest.   She did that with me once this week as well.  These sleeps on us are few and far between and we love them!

Our Tuesday Night

We had a pretty quiet Tuesday night.  Sage wouldn't eat dinner - 2nd night in a row - we had tacos one of her favorites.  She must just be going through something.  She still played lots after dinner despite not eating anything.   Reese made her a tent and she was very excited to show it to me.

She then asked Reese to put a ponytail in her hair.  

I had to step in and assist!

Then it was time for a Teeter-Totter ride on the dining room table bench.  Love her imagination!

Cake

Sage has this cake that goes with her Little People toys and the other night she was having a ton of fun with it.  She thought it was so funny to have Reese put it on her head to see how long she could keep it up there.  This kept her busy for ten minutes!  Any activity that can keep her occupied for 10 minutes is a winner in my book!  Our funny girl!

Happy Birthday Mimi!

Snow!

We don't have much snow here and there hasn't been a chance to take Sage out and play in the snow.   Well today Reese was outside taking care of the tree that had fallen in our yard and Sage was in heaven watching him.  As soon as he was done with the tree Sage and I joined him outside.  She had so much fun.  She was loving the snow and really wanted to play on her playset.  Too bad I didn't put snow pants on her.  I knew it was going to be a quick trip outside since it was almost lunchtime.  She was not happy when we came inside.  I think there will be many more trips outside to play in the snow!

Oven Mitts

Sage loves to be a helper in the kitchen.  She drags a chair over to the counter to see what I am doing.  I could be baking, preparing dinner or putting dishes away.  She has to be in the middle of it all helping me out!   One of her favorite things to grab are the oven mitts and walk around with them.  She tries to pick something up with them on and then gets frustrated when she can't pick it up!  She was having fun tonight helping me clear the table after dinner!

New Cot!

We got a package in the mail yesterday for Sage.  She was very excited to open it and kept saying "present"!  Well it wasn't the most exciting present but she had fun with it!   It is a new cot for when we travel.  Since she is no longer in a crib we won't be using the pack and play when we travel.  She was so excited for the cot, it had to be set up immediately.  She was crying when we had to go upstairs for bedtime because she didn't want to leave her cot.  I had to promise her that I would keep it up so she could play on it today. 

Non-Stop Activity

Yesterday was a busy day, starting off with the storm, an early trip to the gym, a stop at the Town Hall to turn in an invoice and activities all over the house.  Sage has been a very busy girl the last few days.   Non-stop Activity!  Each activity only lasts for a minute and then on to the next one.  I feel like I am running out of stuff to do!   She has been very into putting a diaper on her doll.  Each time she gets a diaper change she wants her doll to get one too.  She still has zero interest in potty training.  She has still been loving her bed.  She loves to climb in and play with her toys and read as well!   The last few nights haven't been great ones for Sage going to bed.  At least an hour of  her getting up and wanting to play and asking for Mommy & Daddy.  Hoping we get back into a good bedtime routine soon.

Morning Surprise

This morning at 6am we had a powerful storm go through.  You would think that since it is January that it would have been a snowstorm - no it was a Severe Thunderstorm.  Reese and I both woke up and turned on the news to see if we were under a tornado warning.  The wind was gusting at around 60mph.   Reese heard a loud noise and went to check it out.  A tree branch had fallen on our patio.  We are very lucky it fell on the patio and not on our roof.  The branch fell from very high up in the tree.   Here are a few pictures.  Looks like we get to borrow a chain saw to get it cleaned up.  Feeling very fortunate this morning that all we have are some branches to take care of and not a hole in the roof!

Singing

Sage has been singing alot these days.  Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star, ABC's, and Row Row Row Your Boat are her current favorites.  Yesterday afternoon she learned Ring Around the Rosie playing with her piano.  She was having so much fun.  I love to listen to her sing - she is so precious when she learns a new song.   She wants to sing it all the time!

Lazy Day

We had a very lazy day yesterday - we all stayed in our pajamas until late afternoon.  It was great having a relaxing day!  Reese and I both still have a cough and Sage just finished her anitbiotics.   She is finally healthy so we are going to venture to the gym this week.  I have been hesitant to take her there since she has been better.  But we stopped by the gym today and Sage played in the indoor play area and we visited her favorite worker in the childcare area.  We are going back to the gym tomorrow - wish us luck.  Sage needs luck that she does well in the childcare area and I need luck since it has been a long time since I have worked out! 

 

Big Girl Bed

Saturday afternoon Reese mentioned to Sage that we would one day take off the side of her crib and make it into a big girl bed.  Well we did it right then and there!   I wasn't quite prepared for it and got all teary eyed.  Our girl is growing up so quickly!  Sage wasn't to sure about the changes to her crib.  She was very interested as the side came off and the new rail went on.  She kept climbing in her bed and would lay down with a big smile on her face!   We told her she climbs in bed and Mommy & Daddy get her out of bed.  The first night she got out of bed 4 times before she fell asleep.  We put a gate at her door, she would open her door lean over the gate and yell Hello!   Once she fell alseep she was in bed until 6am!  I told her it wasn't time to get up and sang her a few songs and put her back in.  She slept until 7:30am.  Then on Sunday she went right down for her nap without any problems.  The last few days have gone pretty much the same way.  We are off to a good start on our big girl bed! 

 I tried to get a picture of her in the bed, but she was so excited she wouldn't sit still - I think she likes it!

Outside in January!!!

What do you do when it is 45 degrees and sunny in January - you go play outside!   Sage is finally almost over her cold so we went outside both Monday and Tuesday this week.  She was loving being outside and didn't want to get out of the swing.  It is not the best picture.  As soon as I took this first shot the camera battery died.   Even though she isn't smiling she had lots of fun outside.

Toaster & Pancakes

Sage was making a bunch of toast tonight with her new toaster.  She loves her kitchen!   We have decided to keep her kitchen upstairs since she has been having so much fun with it.   We spend lots of time each day playing with the kitchen.  We also spent some time in the real kitchen tonight making pancakes.  Sage kept asking for pancakes during dinner.  I told her if she ate her dinner she could have a pancake.  Well she finished her grilled cheese and fruit bar and wanted a pancake.   We were out of pancakes so we whipped up a double batch to freeze.  She ate that pancake so quick!!   I think she is in the middle of a BIG growth spurt!

Pipe cleaners

Who knew how much fun you could have with pipe cleaners and a colander?  I saw this idea on a friends Facebook page and had to try it with Sage.  She loved it!

Our little princess

Sage is slowly starting to feel better.  She is done with the fever, and she seems to have her energy back.  She still has a really bad cough that prompted an 8:30am trip to the doctor this morning.  The doctor gave her some medicine in hopes of kicking this cough.  At least Sage feels good enough to dig through her princess trunk and find her favorites!

Long Day

This is what we did today:
- Stayed in our pajamas all day
-  Relaxed and cuddled on the couch
-  Tried to get Sage's fever under 102 (that was an all day job alternating between Ibuprofen and Tylenol)
- Took naps!  We were up from 4am-6am so a nap was necessary for both of us.  
-  Enjoyed the extra cuddles from from my girl
-  Watched lots of Mickey, Little Einsteins and Word World  

This was Sage today - sitting on the couch, water nearby, red cheeks and Mickey on TV.

"Hang on Tight"

"Hang on Tight" that is what we heard all last night while Sage was playing.   She had climbed onto her push toy and asked to be pushed.  She got pushed all over the house.  Daddy did most of the pushing and I would jump in when he needed a break.   You probably can't tell from this picture that our girl is sick - she has a cold/cough.  Her nose is running, she has a fever and she doesn't have much of an appetite.   I got lots of extra cuddles today - which I loved!  We hope she feels better soon. 

Grocery Shopping

Last night Sage told Reese she was going grocery shopping.  She was all set she had her purse, her John Deere keys, and her basket.   She had lots of fun going from the back door into the kitchen telling us what she had bought at the Grocery store.  She told us she went to Meijers, Kroger, Target, and Walmart.  Our imaginative girl!

Happy New Year!

We had our own little New Year's celebration at home - just the three of us!  Reese wasn't feeling great, and I knew I wouldn't make it until midnight and Sage was asleep by 8pm.   So we had an early celebration around 5pm.  We had fun with our girl!  We hope you all had a great New Year's Eve and we hope that 2012 is all that you want it to be!
