The Sprinkler

It was beautiful here on Monday and we didn't make it to the pool so we thought we would get the sprinkler out.  Sage seemed so excited to run through the sprinkler until we got outside.  She wanted nothing to do with it.  I suggested maybe Kylie & Cole would like to join us.  We went over to get them and Brian had an Elmo sprinkler for Sage to try.  Even Elmo didn't help.  She didn't want anything to do with either of the sprinklers.   Thanks for the cute suit Aunt Sandy & Uncle Al!

Patio Fun!

We did some activities yesterday and since it was so nice we sat out on the patio.  It was a beautiful sunny day and Sage had lots of fun outside!  Also it is a lot easier clean up for a sensory bin filled with rice.  We worked on the letter "M" yesterday but still had a few activities for the letters: G, H & I.  So we worked on those too.  She had lots of fun with the letter G sensory bin.  As soon as she saw the glasses they went on.  She was so excited for the heart glasses!

Summer is here!

It has been in the 80's and we even had 90's over the weekend.  Summer has definitely arrived!   We went to the pool four times last week.  I am starting to get a tan - I hardly ever get a tan and definitely not this early in the summer.  It was time to pull out the summer clothes for Sage - she looks so cute in her shorts and tank tops.  She was running around Monday afternoon and I managed to get a few pictures of her - here is the best one.  I think she is going to enjoy the summer!

Visitors!

We had visitors in for the weekend - Mimi and Pop-Pop were here.  We had a great weekend, thanks for making the trip here.  Sage had a great time with her grandparents and I know they had fun with her too!  We enjoyed some hot summer weather, a few dinners out and cocktails on the patio.

Name tag

We went out for dinner last weekend to a new restaurant and we all loved it.  The menu changes seasonally and they use the freshest ingredients for each season.  We all had a great meal.  Our server was Sage's favorite part.  His name was Joey, the entire meal Sage was looking around calling out for Joey.  He was really good with her throughout the whole meal.  She commented on his name tag and then the next time he came to the table he had a name tag for Sage.  She loved it and wore it the rest of the meal.  He then stopped by the table to see if he could get a picture with Sage and their name tags.  Here is their cute picture!

More Pool Time!

We went to the pool this afternoon and met our neighbors, Rebecca and Lydia, there.  Sage is ten months older than Lydia.  It is so nice to have a playmate that lives right down the road!   They have a lot of fun together and so do Rebecca & I!  We have been to the pool three times in one week - I think that is more than we went all last summer.  I might even get a tan this summer!

Letter "K"

We were working on the letter "K" yesterday afternoon.  This was the first time we used the magnets with a letter sheet and she loved it!   She filled in the K several times and wanted to keep doing more.  But Daddy came downstairs and he was much more interesting than the letter K!

Painting toenails!

It has been really nice weather here and I have been wearing sandals for a few weeks.  When I got out my sandals I also painted my toenails.  Sage has been asking me to paint her toenails since, but there just hasn't been a good time.  I wanted to make sure Reese was home so he could take pictures.  Finally last night we got out the polish and it was tons of fun!   She sat really still and let me paint her nails.  I don't know who had more fun Sage or Mommy!

Fun night out!

Friday night I went out with the girls from Mom's group.  We always have so much fun when we go out.  But Friday was a special night - it was a dinner for Tracey.  Tracey, her husband Mark, and their son Andrew are moving to England for 5 months.  We are so excited for them and all the adventures they are going to have.  I see lots of Skype calls in my future with Tracey and Andrew.

 Bev put together an amazing video of pictures of us and the kids from the last 2.5 years.  We also got Tracey a suitcase charm for her Pandora bracelet to represent all the adventures she will have over the next 6 months.

 

Sage and I are going to miss Tracey and Andrew a ton - but we know that these five months will fly by and they will be home before we know it!

The Pool!

Our neighborhood pool opened up last week and we couldn't wait to get there to try it out!   They have a kiddie pool that is perfect for Sage.  We went to the pool Friday afternoon and had a great time.  We walked to the pool and Sage and I both had so much fun!  We were there for two hours and some neighbors joined us there for the fun.  What a great way to spend an afternoon.  When we got home from the pool Reese met us at home.  We were both so excited to see him he had been gone since Monday training for his new job.

What a difference...

What a difference a year makes!  I was looking at the picture from the first day of school and comparing it to the last day of school. Our girl has gotten so big!   Wow - does the time fly by.

Last Day of School

Today was Sage's last day of school.  She will miss it and so will I!   She went from 9am -1pm every Thursday.  It was a nice time to get errands done, have lunch with girlfriends and to workout!  Before we know it school will be starting up again in the Fall.  So until then I will enjoy my Thursdays at the pool with Sage.  Here are a few pictures from this morning.

Motorcycles

Sage always points out motorcycles when she sees them.  We can be driving down the road and she yells "motorcycle" when she see ones, she can hear our neighbors start theirs and she gets all excited and yells "motorcycle".  So I thought Sage would be all excited to see Nana & Papa's motorcycle when they were here on Sunday.  I was wrong.  She didn't want to touch it, let alone sit on it.  The closest she got was having Papa hold her by the motorcycle.  We hope you have a great motorcycle trip Nana & Papa.  Glad you got to stay for a night!

Mother's Day Project

This was the Mother's Day project that Sage and I did for Nana and Mimi.  Sage had lots of fun putting the letters on the paper.  But she wasn't very happy to do the painting part of the project.  She wanted to use the paintbrush but not have paint on her hand.  And as you can see from the picture - that was the whole point of the project to have her handprint for the flower.  It turned out and we hope both Mimi and Nana like their flower!

Happy Mother's Day

I can't believe this is only my third Mother's Day.  It feels like Sage has been here for a lot longer than that.  I love being a Mother and I am very grateful for each day with Sage.  I love you little one!   I hope all the Mom's out there have a fabulous day!  Thinking of our wonderful Mom's - we hope you enjoy today!

Happy Birthday CJ!

Today is CJ's birthday party!  I can't believe he is 5!  Seems like yesterday I was driving in from Chicago to Michigan to get there in time for his birth.  It was so exciting - my first nephew!  His birthday was Thursday and we hope you had a great day.   Happy Birthday CJ!

Picnic

The last few days Sage has wanted to have a picnic.  Her picnic consists of getting everything out of her kitchen and putting it on the dining room table or the coffee table.  Here she is enjoying a picnic with Reese last night.  She was not so happy when we had to put the picnic away.

 She turned her chair over so it would fit under the coffee table - what a smart girl!

Birthday Matching Game

Reese got home late last night and Sage was sleeping so she didn't get to see him until this morning.  She was so excited to see her Daddy!   She got to play with Daddy before school and that made her day!   She also had fun playing with a new game I made her a Birthday Matching game.  I saw the idea online - you take wrapping paper that you have on hand that has lots of images.  Mine just happened to be presents and cakes.  You cut out all the images and then glue them onto your file folder.  I got the images laminated before I put them on the folder.  Then you use Velcro to attach the matching images.  It is a really easy and fun game!  She played with it on the way to school this morning and loved it. 

Comfy Shorts

Yesterday afternoon I was trying to get a good picture of Sage to post on the blog.  Reese is traveling and when he travels I like to post pictures so he can see Sage while he is gone.

This is obviously not a great picture - but the best one out of ten that I took.  Sage was all excited to do some crafts and wasn't willing to smile for me.    She has on some new shorts - glad I found some shorts she likes.  She is all about comfy pants - or leggings.  She hates to wear jeans or khakis.  So the same goes for shorts.  All she wants is comfy shorts - we only had one pair that were comfy enough for her.  I found these shorts the other day and picked up three more pairs!   She is now a happy girl with her comfy shorts.

Sage's Baby

When I got Sage up from her nap on Saturday she was getting a pair of socks out of her drawer.  I knew Sage didn't need them since it was over 80 degrees out.  The socks were for her baby doll.  She had me put the socks on her baby and then a diaper.  Sage then proceeded to get her water and try to feed it to her baby.  She then said baby was tired and needed to take a nap.  She put the baby down, covered her up and gave her two lovies.   Just like Sage gets when she naps.  She also gave her a kiss goodnight!  The best part was when she took the baby downstairs.  I looked over and she had the baby in timeout!   Wish I had gotten a picture of that!

Stringing Beads

Yesterday Sage told me she wanted to do some activities.  She chose the beads out of all the craft/activity stuff we have.  We got these beads about a month ago and Sage has only used them a few times.  Each time she has used them she has gotten better and yesterday she didn't need any help at all!  She went through all the beads and picked up one and said "Mom this is a cylinder" - she was right!  It amazes me how fast she picks up on things!
