Thanksgiving

A little behind on this blog post but better late than never!  Mimi and Pop-Pop came up for Thanksgiving and we had a great visit. They got here on Tuesday and were a huge help.  They watched Sage so I could go to the doctor by myself on Wednesday morning - thanks!   We had awonderful turkey dinner on Thanksgiving.  Pop-Pop prepared the turkey!  We went for rides to look at Christmas lights and went to a tree lighting.  We had lots of fun and good family time.  Reese and I even got out for one last date night!

Here is Sage on Thanksgiving helping out with the celery and cheese.  I think she ate more than she helped!

39 Weeks

39 Weeks
Total weight gain: +30 lbs (thought this would be lots higher!)

Size of baby: Baby H is the size of a mini watermelon

Gender: Only one more day to go - seems crazy.

Movement: No more room is the message I am getting from the baby.  Lots of painful movement this week as this baby is done and wants out!

Sleep:  Only getting up once during the night - not bad!

What I miss:  Pants that fit properly!

Cravings: Not many cravings this week

Clothes:  Down to two pair of pants that fit comfortably.

Symptoms:  Very uncomfortable and ready for baby to be here.
Best moment this week: Having my last pregnancy appointment.  It was kind of bittersweet, this pregnancy has flown by and I am glad to see it end, but it also makes me sad as this is our last baby.

Christmas Crafts

We pulled out some Christmas crafts this week and Sage was loving it!  She made an ornament for the tree, put a candy cane in water to watch it grow, and colored a wooden Santa.  Santa ended up being blue!

Teacher Presents

With the baby arriving soon I tried to get all of the Christmas presents bought and even wrapped a few.   We got gift cards for Sage's teachers and I found this fun reindeer package to make to put them in.  Love Pinterest for fun ideas!  Making the reindeer was a fun activity for Sage and I!

The elf has arrived!

Chippy our Elf on the Shelf arrived on December 1st!   Sage was very excited to see him and she was also happy to see that he had brought some powdered donuts!   She wanted me to get a picture of her powdered sugar mouth!  It was a fun morning as Shelley and Tyler were here with the boys.  The boys enjoyed the donuts as much as Sage did!

Tree Lighting

Over the Thanksgiving holiday we went to a tree lighting.  It was a chilly night so Mimi, Pop-Pop, Reese, Sage and I all bundled up to go have some fun.  There were street performers out and carolers singing Christmas songs.  Sage and I waited in line for a balloon animal.  She was so good waiting in line - she chose a candy cane balloon but wanted it pink and purple!  Her favorite part was when Santa turned on the lights for the Christmas tree!

Starbucks Date!

On Friday, Sage and I went to Starbucks for a breakfast date!   I had a giftcard to use and a coupon for a free hot chocolate.  It was the first time Sage had a hot chocolate there and she seemed to enjoy it!   It was a fun morning with my girl and I savor these moments before our lives will be blessed with the arrival of Baby #2!

37 Weeks

37 Weeks
Total weight gain: +29.5 lbs

Size of baby: Baby H is the size of a bunch of swiss chard

Gender: Going to have to wait for 2 weeks!!  Crazy that we are this close.  Think we have decided on names!

Movement: No more room is the message I am getting from the baby.  Lots of painful movement this week as this baby is getting bigger and running out of room in there.

Sleep:  Only getting up once during the night - not bad!

What I miss:  Pants that fit properly!

Cravings: Still loving sweets, and the taste for cold fruit is back.

Clothes:  Found another pair of pants that fit that have been in my closet all along.  Goes to show that shopping in your closet is a good thing!

Symptoms:  At my weekly appointment my doctor told me I have dropped!  Baby H #2 is also head down.  So we are getting ready!

Best moment this week: Knowing that Shelley, Tyler and the boys are safe after they survived a tornado destroying their home.  Nothing like taking your mind off your pregnancy worrying about your family.

Sage's Birthday

We usually have a fun day planned for Sage's Birthday, but she had school on her birthday.  We did pick out some fun cupcakes to bring to school for snack time and she got a birthday hat and balloon at school.  They had a fall party that day at school and it was my first time volunteering at her school - we both loved it!  She had fun seeing me in the middle of the school day and I had fun volunteering.

This was her birthday breakfast, she requested chocolate chip pancakes.  Had to add some candles for her!  She also opened a present from us that morning - more princess shoes! Reese was traveling but got home in time to go to dinner.  Sage picked Chick-Fil-A for dinner - her favorite restaurant.

Princess Light

Last week Sage got a present delivered from Mimi and Pop-Pop.  She was so excited she had to open it immediately!  Inside was this adorable princess light that she loves!  She has to have it on all the time.  Thanks Mimi and Pop-Pop!

Can you tell she loved it?

Delivery!

Sage got a birthday delivery from Aunt Sandy and Uncle Al last week and she was so excited.  She loves to get mail, but really loves when she gets a package delivered.  It was a big box and she could hardly contain her excitement as I opened the box.  She pulled out the present first and I found the card.  She loves the present an apron and chefs hat!  Also in the box was a bunch of stuff from when Aunt Sandy taught school.  Sage loved all the things in the box!  Thanks Aunt Sandy & Uncle Al!

Birthday shirts!

Each year Nana has made a birthday shirt for Sage.  It goes along with the theme for her birthday parties.  This year Sage helped me pick out the fabric for her shirt.  That was a fun trip to the fabric store!  Here is a look back at the shirts Nana has made.  She is such a big girl!

Sage's 4th Birthday Party

We had Sage's 4th birthday party on Saturday and what a fun day!  It was a small party with close friends and family.  It was a princess theme party - so of course Sage wore a princess dress!  My Mom, Aunt Terri, and Shelley really helped out - I have a cold so they did all the food for the party - thank you!  Lots of pictures from our fun day.

We had to have a princess cake!

The banner that Nana made for Sage - love it!

A quick family picture before the party started.

 The birthday girl!

Sage playing put the tiara on the princess.

Digging for jewels - whoever found the tiara won!

 Present time!

She was loving the scooter from Nana & Papa.

 Singing Happy Birthday!

She loved her princess cake.

Sage really liked her princess balloon.

The chocolate castle party favors.

Lucas loved the balloons!

Disney Live - Pirates & Princesses

We took Sage to her first Disney Live show - Pirates and Princesses.  It was downtown in a big arena and she loved it!   We told her we were going on an adventure but we didn't tell her about the show until she got up from her nap.  She was so excited!   She picked out her Cinderella dress to wear to the show and told me that she needed her hair up like Cinderella.  The first part of the show was Sofia the First, and after intermission it was Jake and the Neverland Pirates.  Sage loved it all - she sat with Reese for most of the show and was very good.  The show kept her attention the whole time.

Waiting for the show to start.

This was during intermission.  She was ready for it to start again!

Halloween Fun!

Halloween was delayed a day due to some bad storms, so we had Trick-or-Treating on Friday, November 1st.  It was a nice fall day and we had a great time.  We had a party at our house and it was a fun night.  We had dinner before the kids headed out and then we had the fire pit going to keep us warm.  We had five big bowls of candy from the five families that were at the party.  It worked out perfectly - all the kids loved it.  Lots of candy from one stop!

A quick family picture before trick-or-treating.

All the kids that were at the house for the party.
Cole, Kylie, Miranda, Megan, Sage, and Whitley

Sage and Lydia ready to go - they had so much fun!

An action shot of the girls - it was hard to get any good pictures because they were so quick running from house to house!

Build a Bear

On the list of things to do with Sage before Baby #2 arrives was Build A Bear!  We went last week and it was her first time and she loved it!  We looked at all the options of bears and other stuffed animals and she chose a rainbow bear.  She then got to pick traits for her bear:  kind, playful, and sparkly.  Then it was off to fill the bear.  She had fun pressing the pedal to help fill the bear up!   Then she stuck a little heart in her bear and they sewed her bear up.  Then it was time to give her bear a bath and name her bear.  She picked out a sequin tutu and backpack for her bear.

Filling the bear up!

 Bathtime:)

 The finished product!

Naming her bear - she chose Cora for her name.

All set and ready to go home!
