Do-A-Dot Art

Nana and Papa got Sage two books filled with pages of do-a-dot art.  Sage has had so much fun filling the pages.  She finished one book last night, it was the mermaid book.  She did all the mermaids first!  I tried to get a picture of her waving at the camera for Reese since he is on a 9 day business trip.  We both miss him!

Making Cookies!

Yesterday afternoon Sage and I made some cookies.  It was a new recipe and it was a healthy version of a cookie with chickpeas in it.  I know it sounds weird but the cookies were good - not great but good.   Sage seemed to like them just as much as she liked stealing the chocolate chips while we were making the cookies.

Stealing chocolate chips!   At least she asked before she took one!

She liked turning on the food processor.

Popsicles in January

Last Friday and Saturday it was beautiful here - we even hit 60!  We were loving it!  Sage and I played outside on Friday and we went to the park with some friends.  When we got back from the park the girls each had a popsicle.  Never thought we would be having popsicles outside in January!

The Gym

We have started the New Year off right - with healthy food and lots of workouts in this household.  Both Reese and I have some health/fitness goals for 2013 and I hope we stick to them!  Sage and I have been going to the YMCA in the morning.  I like to get there right when the childcare opens and she is one of the first kids there.  Since it is winter and there are lots of colds/flu/infections going around I try to minimize the amount of time she is in the childcare when there are a ton of kids there.  After my workout we usually go into the indoor play area for Sage to run around.  The picture below is from the HUGE play structure.  Last year she wouldn't go in it - this year she is all over it!

Horsing Around

Our playgroup went to Chuck E Cheese this past week.  The kids had so much fun.  The last time Sage and I had been there was for the playgroup birthday party.  Sage obviously remembered - when I told Sage we were going she asked if she would get a medal and a cupcake.  She got both at the party - that girl has a great memory.  We played lots of games and she was much calmer on this visit than the last time.  We played skeeball, fed frogs, did a go-cart race and rode a horse.  Her favorite was the horse, she rode the horse at least five times. I think she was getting ready for our next trip to Texas!

Valentine's Day Activities

I already have a bunch of Valentine's Day activities printed off for Sage to work on.  She loves them!  We spent Tuesday morning working on them and she had lots of fun.  When she was working on some small heart puzzles she kept yelling "I DID IT!"  I got her some giant pushpins to use to work on her fine motor skills.  She loved poking a bunch of holes in the letter and then looking at it in the light to see her handiwork.

Bounce House

One of sage's favorite things about Aunt Shelley's house is the bounce house in the basement.   She kept asking the boys to go bounce with her.   She would have stayed in that bounce house all weekend if we had let her!

Third Christmas

We were so lucky this holiday season we got to celebrate Christmas three times.  Once with just us, at the ranch in Texas and then at my sisters this past weekend.  It was so fun to see all the kids together.  Sage was jumping up and down on the bed the day before we left screaming "I'm going to Shelley's!"   I think she was just a little excited to go visit her Aunt Shelley.  She had fun with the boys but Aunt Shelley was the hit of the weekend.

Sage wasn't too excited for this picture with Mommy & Shelley!

Nana playing Sorry with CJ and Sage.

Lucas is getting so big & even though he was sick he was still a happy boy!

Family Pictures

We have had the same photographer take our family pictures the last three years.  We love the pictures she gets!  She has three little ones and is so understanding when Sage doesn't cooperate.  Here are the two of my favorites from this Fall.  I LOVE the one of Sage it just captures our beautiful girl perfectly.

Chapstick

Sage got so many wonderful things for Christmas and one of her favorites is her chapstick.  Santa brought her some in her stocking and Uncle Russ gave her some as well.  I found an old makeup bag that Sage could use and now all her chapstick is in one spot.  She loves the new bag and has to have it close by at all times.

She was watching a show the other night with Reese and she must have put on her chapstick at least 20 times.  Here she is looking for just the right one.

Putting it on like a pro!

Holding on to her new bag.

New Year's Eve

We had a very nice New Year's Eve as a family.  We stayed home to ring in 2013.  I made a bunch of our favorite appetizers and tried a few new ones too!  We got champagne for me and some Port for Reese and two movies to help keep us up until midnight.  Sage went to bed at her normal time - maybe next year she will get to stay up late!  We watched one movie and started another.  Then we rang in 2013 and went to bed!  We both lasted until midnight - YEAH!  I am glad to see 2012 come to an end and hope that 2013 is a great year.

Making some noise to celebrate the New Year!

 She was so excited!!!

First Snow of the season!

The morning we celebrated Christmas we also got snow!  Sage was so excited to go out and play in it!  She has been talking about making a snow angel for weeks.  Well she got outside and the first thing she did was make a snow angel - it lasted 5 seconds before Reese had to swoop in and resuce her.

I still had to get a picture of her first attempt at a snow angel!

Sage kept telling Reese to go FASTER!

Our girl loving the snow, excited to take her up north this winter!

Having a little snowball fight!

Christmas Morning

We celebrated Christmas early since we were going to Texas for the holiday.  Santa came on Friday the 21st. Sage had so much fun opening her presents!   She saw her dollhouse first and just wanted to play with that.  Then she opened another present and just kept going from there.  She had so much fun tearing into all her gifts.  It was so fun watching her take it all in - holidays are so much more fun with kids!

 Playing with her new dollhouse!

Trying on her new slippers - I was sick but I still enjoyed watching Sage opening her presents.

So excited for more furniture for her dollhouse.

Daddy - let me help you with that.

Reese's gift from Sage - a handprint ornament she made at school.

So happy she got this pillow pet she had to try it out right away.

My favorite gift - Sage made me an angel at school.

We got a very nice family picture taken on Christmas Eve.  Thanks Pop-Pop!  We were all dressed up and haven't had a family picture taken in awhile.  So glad we did - it turned out great.

Fireside

Love this picture of Sage reading a book and relaxing in front of the fire at Mimi and Pop-Pops.  It is one of my favorite places to sit at the ranch.

John Deere Gator

Sage had so much fun at the Ranch.  She got to ride in the big John Deere gator and she learned how to drive a kids John Deere gator.  She had so much fun learning to drive the gator. I only got run off the road once - I thought that was pretty good!

Pop-Pop and Sage ready to go - check out the look on her face!

Heading out to feed the cows.

She loved the big John Deere gator.

But she had lots more fun in the kids John Deere gator!

Sage and Daddy, he was very patient teaching her how to drive.  We'll see how patient he is when she is 16!
