Blanket

We got a very special present in the mail this week from Reese's Aunt Nancy.  She made a blanket for Sage.  It is beautiful, we love it!  It is one of our new favorites and we are sure Sage will love the blanket for years to come.  Here is Sage hanging out on her new blanket - thanks again Aunt Nancy!

Ten Pounds!

On Monday, Sage and I went to our Mom's group.  I always look forward to our Mom's group for many reasons:  visiting with other new Moms, asking the lactation consultants questions, and the chance to weigh Sage each week.  As most of you know Sage has been slower at gaining weight - we are continuing to supplement as needed.  I am happy to say we aren't supplementing as much as we were!

I really like that I get to weigh Sage each week.  It is nice to know where we are each week.  Well this week was fabulous - Sage hit 10 pounds!  She gained seven ounces last week - what an overachiever!  It really started our week on a good note.  Hope you all had a good week to.   Here are a few pictures from our week.

Transition - Pack and Play to Crib

This past weekend we took a big step - putting Sage in her crib for the night.  We started on Friday night, I was the one to suggest it to Reese.  I am sure he thought if he suggested it I would have said no!  Since Sage has been home from the hospital she has been sleeping in a pack and play in our room.  It took me a long time to go to sleep on Friday - I laid in bed for 1.5 hours before I fell asleep to the sounds of Sage on our baby monitor.  Well she did great.  Each of the nights she has only gotten up once to eat - usually around 3am and then she gets up for the day at 8am.  I can handle those nights!  Below are pictures of her after waking up from a nap this morning.  She loves her new mobile and she looks so cute in her outfit from Aunt Sandy.

Favorites...

We were relaxing on Sunday afternoon watching football and Sage was taking a nap. She was really enjoying being on her Daddy's chest and was holding on to his shirt to make sure he didn't go anywhere!

Mom of the Year Award - #1

I heard a few moms talking about Mom of the Year Awards the other day.  This is not an award I wanted to win - but knew that it was inevitable.  Well, the time came today when I was clipping Sage's fingernails.  I made it all the way to the last finger and I cut her.  I felt so bad and so did she.  She let out the biggest scream and started sobbing.   I still feel horrible and it has been over 8 hours ago that it happened.  I know that she will be fine, but I am sure I will be hesitant the next time I cut her nails.  As you can see from the picture below she is fine.  The blanket she is laying on is one of mine from when I was a child.  Thanks Mom for saving our blankets!

Happy Birthday Mimi!

We hope you are having a great birthday!  Happy Birthday Mimi!  We love you, Reese, Sara & Sage

Here is Sage wishing Mimi a Happy Birthday!  She is all bundled up to go outside for a walk.  We didn't stay out too long.  I just love the little mittens that match her hat:)

Business trip

Reese has been away the last three days on his first business trip since his surgery and since Sage was born.  This was a big trip for him - and we missed having him at home.  We are so excited that he will be home tonight.  Here is a picture of Sage in her swing today.  She usually can stay in the swing for about 10 - 15 minutes.  Then she has had enough!!  Enough time for me to do dishes or get some laundry done!

Another Milestone

We have reached another milestone - a new size in diapers.  Sage is now out of Newborn diapers and into size one diapers.  This is a big deal in our house!   The first time I put one of the new diapers on her it seemed huge!  The new diapers seem to suit Sage just fine.  Here are a few pictures from today - as you can tell from the first picture Sage was in a pretty good mood today.

More Christmas!

I just received these photos from my Aunt Terri from the Rahilly Family Christmas.  It looks like they all had a great time.  We missed being there.

This is one of my favorite things about Christmas seeing all the stockings hanging at my Grandpa's.

Beary Good Weekend

We had a good weekend - hope you all did to!  It was a very quiet weekend.  I had my first night out on Friday.  I went to dinner and drinks with Kelly.  It was a fun night - we had Mexican and I really enjoyed my first margarita since Sage was born.   Sage has been fussy this weekend and was quite a handful for Reese while I was out Friday night.  We think she is going through a growth spurt - we were on the every 2 hour feeding schedule this weekend.  She did sleep good both nights this weekend - which was very nice for me!  I only had to get up once each night.  Here is another picture of Sage and her Bear!

Two Months

We had Sage's two month check up today.  She is doing great!   She is still sick and the doctor said that might even last another week.  She is in the 75th percentile for her height (we're not sure where that comes from) and her weight is in the 17th percentile.  We were a little worried about Sage gaining weight and had to supplement with formula for the last few weeks.  The good news is that Sage keeps gaining weight at a steady pace.  The pediatrician said that Sage is on her own growth curve!   Overall a good visit - Sage was a champ when she got her shots.  It broke Mommy & Daddy's hearts when she started crying when she got the shots.  But we all made it through.

Sleep

We have reached another milestone - sleeping through the night!  Sage gave me seven straight glorious hours of sleep on Saturday night.  It was amazing.  It was the first time she has slept through the night and we can't wait for more nights like that.  We were only up twice last night - not to bad.   We are all looking forward to many more nights of good sleep to come.

This picture was taken this morning before we left to do some errands. I thought she looked so cute I had to snap a few pics!

2009 Review # 4 - Nephews

We were very lucky in 2009 to become an Aunt and Uncle again - we have two more nephews!  Finnegan Reese was born to Faith and Russ on July 31st, joining big sister Sloan.  Brady Michael was born to Shelley and Tyler on October 16th, joining big brother Corvin.  It is so nice having cousins so close to Sage's age.  What fun these kids are going to have through the years.

We can't wait to watch these little boys grow up with Sage!  Here are a few pictures of the boys.

Good start to the week...

It has been such a good week so far...   Monday - I finally got to the post office to send out some very late Christmas gifts.  Sorry, Faith and Russ - they should be there by the end of this week.  I got Sage to the doctor and we went to the breastfeeding support group - really like a Mom's group.  I have met some great women and their beautiful babies.  I really enjoy this group and it is my weekly appointment on Mondays.  I got my haircut and I even made dinner!   Yesterday Sage and I went on errands and to the mall.  It was our first adventure by ourselves.  It was a good day!   Last night was our best night yet - she got up to eat at 3:00am and 7:30am.  I can handle those nights!  I even got to shower already today and Sage is taking a nap right now.  What a good start to our week.  Hope you all are having a good week too!  Here is a picture of Sage from this morning!

Our First Cold

Sage has her first cold, it started last Wednesday and because of New Years we weren't able to get into the doctor until today.  The good news is that the cold isn't in her lungs - only in her head.  The poor thing is so congested, we are still propping her up to sleep.  Sage had a big day yesterday - brunch out with Mommy & Daddy, and Kelly & Jason.  She also made it through three outfits yesterday by throwing up.  Reese was the lucky one who was on the receiving end both times she threw up.  So, he was up to three outfits as well.  The pictures attached are Mommy still in her first outfit and Sage in parts of three outfits!

Favorites...

Another one of my favorites!  This was taken on Christmas Day.  Love the smiles on both their faces.
