Our Princess!

Sage had lots of fun this morning playing princess.  When she was trying to figure out what dress-up outfit she wanted to wear she threw them all out of her princess chest and then went through them.  She decided on this lovely skirt and shirt today.  She was dancing all over the family room waving her wand!

New Bed!

We got Sage a new bed at the end of June.  She has done really well with it!  She loves all the space in her new bed.  We decided to not get bed rails for her new bed.  Instead we got some pool noodles to help her stay in bed.  You can see the pink pool noodle in the first picture, it is over the wood so if she does fall out she will hit that instead of the wood.  There is also one on each side of the bed under the fitted sheet.  The hope is that they would stop her from falling out.  So far they have worked and she hasn't fallen yet.  We still have to get some curtains and some stuff for her walls to go with the orange/purple/turquoise color scheme. 

She didn't want to get her picture taken, but finally smiled for me.  She has been a very SASSY girl this week.

Painting Take Two

Last week we started a painting project with Megan and Marshall.  Sage didn't quite finish hers so we had to finish it at home.  Yesterday she decided she wanted to paint - it didn't last for long.  Just like the first time after about 5 minutes she was done painting.  Short attention span after Mommy gets everything out and ready to paint.  But she finished her project!

Sage was helping me get ready last Friday afternoon.  She loves to use my makeup brushes and wear my necklaces when I get ready.  I was getting ready to go out to dinner with Reese.  We had a fun date night and it was our first night out in two months. 

Gumball machine

Sage picked out a fun craft for one of her potty training prizes - a gumball machine.  It had lots of little plastic pieces - which we first separated by color.  I would then ask her for a specific color and she would get each one for me, then I would put it on the plastic tray.  After we finished putting it together I had to iron it to melt it all together. It was a good project for Sage and I to do together.   Here she is showing off the finished gumball machine.

Purple!

Yesterday morning before we went to church we had a few minutes to spare.  That usually never happens!  So we had some time to take a few pictures - Sage wasn't in the mood to cooperate.  She was more into running around the family room.  We did manage to get a couple good ones!

Painting Project

One of the prizes Sage picked out for potty training was a painting book.  She loved it!   Each page has paint on it, you use a paintbrush or q-tip, get it wet then pick your paint color and paint away.  She had lots of fun picking her paint color!

Potty Training Update

This potty training experience has been good so far.  Sage only had three accidents in the first three days of potty training and other than that we have been accident free! She still wears a diaper during her nap and at night.  But most naps and mornings she wakes up dry.  Never knew how excited I would get about her using the potty!  She still doesn't like public restrooms and the first time she went potty in public was on a trip to the zoo.  She came home and told her Daddy that she went potty at the zoo!  I still have to remind her when it is time to go to the potty and am just waiting for the day when she tells me she has to go.  I know we will get there.  Here is our cute girl in her Minnie Mouse undies and a Minnie Mouse Tiara!  We are using a Reward/Sticker Chart and it is working out well.  Each time Sage uses the potty she gets to put a sticker on her chart.  When she gets 10 stickers on the chart she gets to pick a prize.  Her latest prize was this Minnie Mouse tiara - she was so excited to pick out the tiara!

Shoes

We were getting ready to go for a walk this morning and Sage put on my shoes.  She seemed to enjoy running around the kitchen with them on.  We had a good walk, but it was a hot one.  I think I am ready for the cooler Fall weather!

Garden Update

My Mom came to visit this week, she arrived Tuesday afternoon and is leaving this morning.  Tuesday night we went out and picked beans and peas.  It has been so hot here this might be the only beans and peas that we get from the garden.  When we were traveling a neighbor was watering for us, but with all the heat the garden isn't doing well.  We had lots of fun picking the veggies and Sage loved it!

Violin & Guitar Lesson

Sage loves musical instruments!  She has a harmonica, recorder, and a drum.  The other night Reese pulled out his violin and guitar.  Sage was in heaven, she was so excited to play both instruments.  I think Reese had as much fun as she did.

The Zoo

While we were in Texas we went to the zoo.  It is a small zoo, only 1 mile around to see all the animals, a perfect size.  Sage loved seeing all the animals and her favorite were the giraffes.  After the zoo we went on a train ride.  She crashed as soon as we got home to the ranch.  A busy morning and a very tired girl!

 So excited for the train ride- she was yelling Choo, Choo and jumping up and down!

Dress-Up

There is a big container of dress-up clothes at the Ranch and Sage had lots of fun trying it all on.  Her favorite thing to try on were heels.  When she first put them on she was teetering all over the place.  After a little while she got more comfortable in the heels and was wondering all over the house.

Singing with Mimi

Sage had lots of fun playing the piano with Mimi.  She also had fun with the karaoke machine - she loved the microphone.  Here she is singing Row, Row, Row your Boat!

The Pool!

We all love the pool at the ranch and are very thankful for it on a hot summer day.  These pictures were taken during a morning swim.  Sage wasn't happy and didn't really want to swim.  She was content to sit on the edge and kick and splash with Finn.  Sloan was swimming all over the pool with Russ and Reese.  What a fun morning!

Popsicles

Tractors and Gators!

The kids had lots of fun driving around the ranch on the John Deere Gator and Tractor.  Finn and Sloan are very good drivers, Sage is better as a passenger!

Our Little Cowgirl!

We made it to Texas and are having a great time with Mimi, Pop-Pop, Uncle Russ, Sloan and Finn.  Here is Sage trying on Sloan's new cowboy hat!

The Beach

While we were at my parents we took Sage to the beach.  This was her first time playing at the beach.  At first she wasn't to sure.  The sand was not her favorite, but she did get used to it and loved playing in the sand.  She was a bit scared of the water.  She let me dip her toes in and she didn't like it because it was cold.  She eventually got a little closer to the water and we even went for a few walks along the waters edge.

 Having somefun in he sand, we built lots of sandcastles that day.

New Friends

Here is a picture of Haleigh, Sage, and Grace at dinner on Wednesday night.  These two girls have passed down a ton of clothes to Sage and it was fun to see them together.  They were all so good at dinner and had lots of fun!
