Touch the Truck

There was an event last week called Touch the Truck. It was put on by a local Parks and Recreation Department and they had all sorts of truck to look at and climb in.  We went on a trolley, school bus, and then looked at dump trucks, tractors, race cars, army vehicles, street sweeper and even a motor home.  Sage wasn't to excited to sit in the trucks but she had fun looking at them.  Thanks Nana for coming along!

 She loved this dump truck!

Checking out the trolley.

I think her favorite was the school bus.
She keeps asking when she gets to ride the bus!

Cowgirl!

We had to go mail something out at Meijer and Sage was begging to ride this horse.  It only costs a penny and it lasts for almost 5 minutes.  A great deal!  She loved it!   I have a feeling on each trip to Meijer now she will be asking to ride the horse!

Frogs!

The library only has a few story times throughout the summer.  Luckily we were able to catch the last two: fairies and then frogs.  The kids go in for 30 minutes - they read stories, sing songs, and even dance!  I love this 30 minutes - and so does Sage.  I usually check out a few books and read!  During the last 15 minutes we go in and help them with a craft. Here she is with her frog craft and frog finger puppet.  As soon as story time was over she asked to send a picture to Daddy with her frogs!  Can't wait for story time to start up again in the Fall!

20 Weeks

20 Weeks
Total weight gain: +11.5 lbs

Size of baby: Baby H is the size of an Banana

Gender: Going to have to wait until December!!

Movement: Lots of movement this week - Love it!  Had a small milkshake and the baby started moving like crazy:)

Sleep:  Took a few naps this week and still sleeping with a regular size pillow on my side.

What I miss:  Not Much!

Cravings: Still loving any fruit that is cold (watermelon, blueberries, etc.), still need to make Chicken Pad Thai - just didn't get around to it this week.

Clothes: Feeling very comfortable in maternity clothes, some of my shirts are still big but still wearing them.

Symptoms:  Talked to my doctor about the low pressure that I have been feeling.  As I figured it is normal and will most likely be this way the rest of the pregnancy.  Lucky me!

Best moment this week:  Seeing the baby at the ultrasound appointment and hearing that Baby H. #2 is healthy!   Sage went with us to the ultrasound and she liked seeing the baby.

Swim goggles

When we went to the pool with Rebecca and Lydia, Sage was all about Lydia's goggles.  She wore them while we were at the pool and then when we got home she kept asking for her own pair.  We had to go to Target that afternoon and she picked out a pink/purple pair of swim goggles.  She loves them - she hasn't used them in the pool but she likes to wear them in the bathtub!

Horseshoes

Reese had fun playing in the horseshoe tournament at the family reunion so when I saw a kids horseshoe set at Target I had to get it.  I figured he would have lots of fun playing with Sage.  Well Sage loves it!  She and I set it up in the front yard and it kept her attention for about 20 minutes, not to bad!

Bowling

Sage got to try bowling for the first time a few weeks ago and loved it.  We met Bev, Wayne, Case, and Ty at the Bowling Alley.  There was only one other lane taken out of the 80 lanes.  Good to know that Saturday morning is a good time to go since it wasn't very busy.   All the kids loved it - they had so much fun!  The kids had it easy - Bowling is a lot easier when you have bumpers and a rack to roll the ball down the alley.  What a fun morning!

Case, Sage and Ty - our little bowlers!

 Her first attempt at bowling!

Waiting to see how many pins she knocked down.

Ty checking to see how he did!

Case was so quick all I got was him watching to see what pins he knocked down.

Sage asked me on the way what color her bowling shoes would be.  She was very curious as to what colors they would have!

I love this one of Ty waiting to see how many pins he got!

I didn't bowl but I had lots of fun watching the
kids & the adults play!

Ice Cream Social

There was a Ice Cream Social downtown a few weeks ago and who doesn't love ice cream?   We went down with Rebecca and Lydia and had lunch and then went to the Ice Cream Social for dessert.  It was a beautiful day - not to hot with low humidity!   Perfect day to be outside.

She wouldn't eat her ice cream at first so I helped her out.  Then she finally got into it!

Miss Lydia enjoyed her ice cream!

 They loved this fountain.

Throwing a penny in to make a wish!

Love a good Sage and Momma picture!

Neighbors!

We have some great neighbors and we may soon be saying goodbye to a few of them.  Two families have recently bought land and put their houses up for sale.  I hope for them that their houses sell quickly and they get to build their dream homes and I also hope we get some great new neighbors.

Sage and Nat - her family might be moving soon.

Braids

Sage has been letting me do her hair for her - not just plain old ponytails anymore.  She asked for braids a few weeks ago and this is what we came up with!

19 Weeks

19 Weeks
Total weight gain: +9.5 lbs

Size of baby: Baby H is the size of a Mango

Gender: Going to have to wait until December!!

Movement: Yes - finally!!!!

Sleep:  Sleeping pretty well - went from a small pillow to a regular size pillow to sleep with on my side.  Pretty soon the the body pillow will be brought out!

What I miss:  My energy level has been lower this week - I have taken lots of naps this week.

Cravings: Still loving any fruit that is cold (watermelon, blueberries, etc.), Chicken Pad Thai - got some rice noodles to make a homemade sodium friendly version, anything sweet.

Clothes: I am now wearing maternity shirts as well.

Symptoms:  The same low pressure that I have been feeling.

Best moment this week:  When I felt the baby move for the first time!  It was Monday, July 15th and I was laying in bed and I felt the little flutters.  I called Reese right away - he was traveling for a few nights.  I was so excited and then I couldn't go to sleep because I kept feeling the baby move!

Here is a picture from 18 Weeks.

4th Fun!

We had a great day on the 4th.  We had a little bit of rain but we still were able to do fireworks. We had a great dinner, then we got the firepit going with some friends.  Fireworks right in front of the house to end the night.  Sage was thrilled with the fireworks - her squeals of excitement were so cute!  She was outside until 10:30pm and was one tired girl!

Yummy red, white, and blue popsicles after dinner.
S'mores were later in the night!

Pop-Its - I remember those from when I was a kid.  Sage loved them - all you do is throw them on the ground and they make a popping noise and maybe a spark or two!

Reese was helping Sage with her Sparkler.

She figured out the Sparklers and loved them!

Projects with Daddy

It was a rainy Saturday right before the 4th and what else was there to do but projects with Sage.  We had a relaxing day at home and after her nap she was all about the projects.  The first project was to put red, white, and blue beads on pipe cleaners.  She loved this!  Then we took the pipe cleaners out of the foam and used a clothespin to keep the beads on as she put them on.  Moved quickly into putting beads into a pattern - she wasn't a fan of this, then painting with a star cookie cutter.  Then she asked Reese to paint her hand like a flag - I think this was her favorite part of the day.  Then of course she had to paint his hand.  It was fun to watch these two!

Firework Project

We did lots of fun activities leading up to 4th of July - pipe cleaner fireworks was one of them.  Thank you, Pinterest!   I got all the stuff together during one of Sage's naps so we were ready to go when she got up.  She was excited for some activities.  I was a big slacker on activities during my first trimester, but not that I am feeling better we are back on track with activities!

The finished product!

First pool day

We have been so busy it took us awhile to get to the neighborhood pool.  We finally got to go a few weeks ago and had a great morning at the pool. We had it all to ourselves - which was really nice!  Sage had fun in the kiddie pool but not the big pool.

She was loving that she could make footprints on the concrete!

Dad's Birthday Treat

Each year I make Reese a special birthday treat.  It can be a cake, pie, cobbler or any other type of dessert - whatever he requests.  This year was even more special because Sage got to help!  Reese requested rhubarb cobbler.  I had made it for him once before and it turned out just as good as the first time.  Sage's favorite part was kneading the dough!   Here is our little chef!

Walking in the rain!

A few weeks ago we had Miranda's graduation party.  She lives right down the street and was Sage's main babysitter.  Luckily, Miranda's sister Collen is still around and now Sage's new babysitter!  We had fun at the party and it was raining out when we left.  Sage was so excited that she got to use an umbrella.  Here we are walking home in the rain!

Milk Moustache

While we were away on our Oregon trip Sage mastered two things:  drinking from a cup without a lid and drinking from a water bottle.  We have been working on this for awhile!   Another milestone passed!  The first time she had milk at home after our trip she started laughing and told me to look at her milk moustache - she was so proud of her moustache!
