Super Sage!

Nana made Sage and the boys super hero capes!  Sage loves hers - she opened it up Saturday night and she immediately put it on.  Sage always gets excited when she gets mail but she was super excited when she saw what was in the package.

She put the mask on before she finished opening the package.

 Super Sage looking for monsters.

She was chasing Reese all over the house.

Super Sage in action - I love her ponytail flying in the air!

Fun in the Snow!

Sage and I were at Shelley and Tyler's for a few days last week.  The kids were so excited that there was snow and they could go make snow angels and a snowman.

Lucas was so cute watching the kids play outside!

CJ couldn't wait to get outside.

Sage has been waiting for weeks to go outside and play in the snow.  She was so happy that they got to go out twice while we were at Shelley's!  Sage borrowed one of Brady's jackets so she could play outside.

No more diapers!!

We have gotten rid of the diapers at night and at naptime - so I think it is time to say we are officially potty trained!  Sage has been doing really well.  She had two accidents after we took the diapers away.  But then she went five days without an accident and as a reward she got a music box.  She has been wanting a music box and was so excited to open it.  She got it Thursday morning and didn't want to let it go.

Valentine's Day Present for Daddy

Since Reese had to leave for another long business trip I had Sage do a bunch of projects for him for while he was gone.  He gets home today and we are both so EXCITED!  I wanted to make this trip a little easier for him.  I sent him with an envelope with a special project each day for him to open.  Here are some of the projects Sage did for him - all Valentine's Day themed.

She was so happy to get her picture taken - not at all - she wanted to work on her project!

This was painting with a paper towel roll - she loved it!

Glue hearts covered in red glitter!

Sage loves to tear the paper and then glue it on!

She did this collage at the Library.

She started to color the letters then decided to trace them.

Playdate!

Lydia came over for a playdate this week and the girls played so well together.  They shared all the toys and there was no fighting over a single toy - I loved it!   Maybe Sage is starting to get better at sharing her toys.  She did tell me on the way home from lunch that day that she was going to keep her books in the car so Lydia couldn't read them.  So I know we still have a little bit of work to do!   The girls decided to have a picnic on the coffee table.

Valentine Dessert

I always try to make a fun dessert for Valentine's Day.  This year I made Jello hearts.  First you make the jello, after it sets you put a cutting board over it and flip and hope all the jello comes out in one piece - luckily mine did!  Cut out the jello hearts, put them back in the pan and then make the sweetened condensed milk mixture and pour it over the jello hearts.

Here it is before I cut into it.

It worked - they all came out perfectly!   I brought some around to our neighbors to enjoy.

Here is a link to the recipe:

Valentine's Day

Most of you know that I love all holidays!   I hope Sage does too!   I had lots of fun making it a special Valentine's Day for her.  For breakfast she had heart shaped strawberries and peanut butter toast, sprinkles on some pudding and a chocolate heart.  What do you think she ate first - of course the chocolate heart!

Then for dinner she had heart shaped pizza and blueberries that were shaped like a heart as well.  This time the sprinkles were on yogurt!

She had to rearrange the strawberries into a different size heart!

After she got home from school on Thursday she told me that Reese and I were her Valentines!   Melted my heart!

Opening the Mailbox

Sage had so much fun opening her valentines from her friends.  She got up from her nap after playgroup on Wednesday and immediately asked to open her Valentine mailbox.  The chocolate valentines were the hit!

Valentine's Party

For playgroup this week Megan hosted a Valentine's party for the kids.  They did a painting craft with hearts, and they exchanged valentine's.  It was lots of fun!  The kids each brought a mailbox for their valentines.

The kids:  Marshall, Alice, Sage, JJ, Allison, Andrew, Ty, & Case

These are the flowers we made to give to the kids.  Who knew that you could make flowers out of cupcake wrappers!

Sunday Funday!

It was a gray Sunday morning and we stayed home and kept busy.  We did so many activities/projects with Sage I lost count.  We started off with painting and then moved into activities, counting with clothespins, stringing beads, playing with pipe cleaners, and ending with Valentine's Day Bingo.  It was a busy morning!

She had fun with the toilet paper roll painting - you push the roll together and it looks like a heart!  Notice the paint tray - the Self magazine.  We ran out of paper plates and had to improvise!

Happy Valentine's Day

Since Reese left for a business trip today we celebrated Valentine's Day yesterday.  Reese and I made cards for each other, I made a special dessert and we gave Sage her Valentine's Day gifts!  We got her Chutes and Ladders - she was excited for a new game.  We also got her some candy, stickers, crafts and a Pez dispenser, she loved the Pez and wanted to eat them all night long!  Here she is opening her new game, she tore into the wrapping paper!

Painting with Daddy

Reese has an easel set up in his old office and he and Sage decided to paint away on Saturday afternoon.  I had so much fun watching them paint together.  It is the little things like this, watching Reese teach Sage to paint and it just makes me realize how lucky we are.  Sage had lots of questions and was really good - they painted for about an hour.   When Reese got out the painters palette and started mixing paint she was so excited.  She held the painters palette the rest of the time.
