Trip to the Orchard

Yesterday we met Shelley, Brady and Lucas at an Orchard.  It was about halfway between us - it was a good spot to meet.  We had fresh apple cider and donuts and the kids got to play outside.  It was a beautiful sunny day.  They had a giant slide that both Brady and Sage refused to go down.  But they did like the play area and the mini putt-putt.  Brady was not interested in playing with Sage or talking to Aunt Sara at all!   Maybe next time!  Lucas is getting so big - it was so nice cuddling with him.  Thanks for a great day!

Indoor Playground

We went to an indoor playground on Wednesday with some friends.  It was a rainy and gray day - perfect time to let the kids run around and get some exercise inside!  The kids loved it and were running all over the place.  They did sit still for a little bit and Stephanie got this great picture!  We went to Chick-Fil-A for lunch after playing.   Thanks Stephanie and Megan for a great morning!

Box of Chocolate Game

We have started working on numbers with Sage.  She can count to15 but doesn't have the recognition of numbers yet.  I have been busy finding all sorts of fun number activities to do with her.  I found this Box of Chocolate game and knew she would like it. I printed it off and laminated all the pieces - yes I bought a laminator and love it!  I have used it a ton and it is really helpful to have.   Now that this game is laminated it will last a long time!

Barrettes

I was organizing Sage's shoes the other day and she had to come join me in her closet.  Of course she had to try to squeeze into the closet and make the small space even smaller!  While she was in there she found a container filled with hair stuff: barrettes, headbands and clips.  She was so excited and couldn't wait to put them in her hair.  I have had the barrettes packed away because about a year ago she swallowed one and choked on it.  Reese was right there and smacked her back and it came out - thank goodness.  So you can see why I was a little hesitant to use barrettes again.  Well we got them out and that is all she wants in her hair these days.  I am now keeping the barrettes in a container in our bathroom closet.  To high for her to reach - just in case!

Felt Boards

I got two felt boards from Michael's and we used them as potty training prizes.  We got them out last week and Sage had lots of fun deciding where each piece should go on the felt boards.  She wouldn't let me help and she put all the pieces away by herself.  She is getting so big - I can't believe she will be three soon.  Look how long her hair is getting!

This is what I got when I asked for a smile.

Coloring

Reese and Sage were having so much fun coloring the other night I had to take a picture.   Love these daddy/daughter moments!

Sick Girl

Two weeks ago Sage woke up with a low fever, by the afternoon it was up to 102.  She wasn't eating much and we thought that she might enjoy a popsicle.  Even though she wasn't feeling good she did enjoy her popsicle.  She didn't eat much dinner and fell right to sleep that night until she woke up at 3am throwing up.  Poor kiddo she just wanted to be held.   We cleaned her up and brought her into our room and she seemed better the next morning with just a low fever.  So lucky she doesn't get sick very often.

You wouldn't know she wasn't feeling good with that smile on her face - she did have some rosy cheeks.

Happy Anniversary to us!

Amazing that it has been 5 years today that we got married.  What an incredible journey we have already been on during these 5 years.  You never know what you can go through until you have to.  Our love has grown deeper with each passing day and I look forward to all the memories to come.  I love you Reese - Happy Anniversary!

Parade

Each school day we go and get Natalie and Lunden off the bus.  It is Sage's highlight of her day!   She gets to play with the kids and she loves it!   Here are Sage and Natalie having a parade down the sidewalk.  The parade route goes from our driveway to theirs!

Baby Jam Fun!

This picture is from a few weeks ago at Baby Jam.  It was a beautiful day out and we were enjoying some sunshine.  I love these little kiddos and I am so thankful that Sage has such great little friends.  I am very lucky as well since the kids all have wonderful Mommy's!

Sage, Ty, Marshall, and Case having some fun!

Fall Day at the Zoo!

We went to the zoo yesterday and it was a great day to be there!   It was chilly only 59 degrees when we arrived at the zoo.  But there were lots of animals out enjoying the cool weather.  We met our neighbors there, Rebecca and Lydia.  The girls had a good time in Lydia's wagon.   We took a train ride but the carousel was closed.  Not being able to ride the carousel was a tragedy for Sage.  But she did feed the giraffes for the first time and loved it!  We are very lucky to have a such nice zoo so close to us.

Getting Big

It has gotten a little cooler here and we are loving it!  I had to get out some fall clothes for Sage and she is now wearing 3T shirts and pants.  She is getting so big.  Here she is in one of her fall outfits - the shirt and pants are both hand-me-downs.  We are so thankful for all the clothes that we have been given!

This is what I got when I asked her to smile for me.

I detect some attitude here in this picture...

Future Softball Player???

On the walk home Saturday night after the playground we came upon Cole and Brian playing football.  Sage was so excited to join their game.  She had lots of fun and even had a few good catches and throws!  Then Cole got out his baseball stuff and they got out Kylie's softball helmet for Sage.  To say Sage was excited is an understatement - she was thrilled with the helmet.  Maybe we have a future softball player on our hands!

Reese taught her how to hold the bat and how to stand - she has a pretty good stance going!

The Playground!

We went to the playground last night and Sage didn't want to leave.  I managed to get this one picture.  She was all over the place - the swings, the slide and the rock wall.  She took a header off the swing but got right back on. Love this girl in her pigtails!

Steve's Boat

Our neighbors Steve and Patty had their boat out on the street on Saturday night.  Steve was cleaning it up before they put it away for the winter.  Well Sage saw him cleaning the boat and wanted to go visit.  Steve took the cover off and let her climb into the boat.  She wanted me to go in with her.  She had fun playing in the boat - her favorite part was pressing the button for the horn.

Pretending to drive the boat!

Painting at the Art Fair

In the kids area the painting section was Sage's favorite!   She got to paint with a squirt bottle, turkey baster, squirt gun, and spray bottle.  She would have stayed there and painted all day if we had let her.  The museum that sponsors the art fair is going to hang up the pictures that the kids painted on their community day!

Art Fair Fun!

We went to an art fair on Saturday and had a great day!  We met Kelly and Jason there and walked around, saw some beautiful art, had some food and Sage got to play in the kids area.  She got to paint, make her own shaker and pretend to conduct the orchestra.  She really enjoyed it!

Walking into the art fair.  We had gotten almost 2 inches of rain the night before and she was very excited to wear her rain boots.  She got lots of compliments on her boots!

 Conducting at the symphony booth.
