29 Weeks

29 Weeks
Total weight gain: +22.5lbs

Size of baby: Baby H is the size of an acorn squash

Gender: Going to have to wait until December!!

Movement: Still lots of movement but mostly on the lower right side

Sleep:  Been good this week - I even slept in until 6:30am a few mornings!!!

What I miss:  Wine - we got a shipment of wine this week from a winery we visited in Oregon this summer.  Would be nice to have a glass - 10 more weeks!

Cravings: Chocolate - broke into the bag of chocolate chips this week!

Clothes: Loving the cooler weather and the chance to wear jeans, boots and scarves

Symptoms:  Being uncomfortable - need to eat small meals, stomach fills up fast

Best moment this week: Being 29 weeks and not having a major medical crisis happen like it did when I was pregnant with Sage.  Very thankful Reese is here!

Cool Morning at the Zoo

Playgroup was at the zoo last week but a few of the kids were sick so it ended up being Bev, the boys, Sage, and I.  We had a fun morning - it was a nice cool morning and I was loving it!  Bev showed us the gardens and Sage loved them.  Lots of pretty flowers and fun fountains.  I don't know why we never went in there before - Thanks Bev!

Cheering

I was making dinner one night last week and Sage was running around with her pom-poms.  There was a trail of orange after her as she was cheering so hard the pop-poms were coming apart!  She was yelling and bouncing all over the house.  She was going so quick this is the best shot!

Happy Anniversary!

Six years ago I married the love of my life!   I love this adventure we have been on and can't wait to see what this next year has in store for us.  I love you, Reese!

This is one of the first pictures of the two of us!  It was in Chicago for the 2005 Marathon cheering on Elise.

First Fall Project!

We love the seasons and different holidays in this house and I was so excited to do our first Fall craft last week!  I found the idea on Pinterest and it looked like lots of fun.  It was a beaded pumpkin   We started off with the pipe cleaners and then you add the beads.  We started it one day before lunch and then Sage lost interest.  We picked it up the next day and finished it.

 Just starting out!

Showing off the finished product - it was also dress up time at our house:)

Holding hands!

We went to the park a few weekends ago with Megan, Marshall, and Alice.  It was a hot morning but we had fun.  The kids played on the playground and then we went for a walk through the woods.  Megan got this cute picture of Sage and Marshall walking and holding hands.  Sage being our affectionate girl always wants to hold hands or give hugs.  I have to remind her to ask before she goes in for a hug or grabs someones hand.  She isn't to happy when somebody tells her no!

27 Weeks

27 Weeks (a few days late)
Total weight gain: +22lbs (feels like a lot, but looking back it is a 5 pound weight gain for the month - not to bad)

Size of baby: Baby H is the size of a head of lettuce

Gender: Going to have to wait until December!!  We still are working on names for a girl.  We have a few boy names but only one possible girl name.  Any suggestions send them my way!

Movement: Still lots of movement all over - but some really low kicks that hurt!

Sleep:  Getting up lots to go to the bathroom.  Hoping that it won't continue but I know it will until the end.  I guess just preparing me to be up every few hours with a newborn.  Still trying not to nap as much and go to bed earlier.

What I miss:  Having my normal energy and only going to the bathroom a few times a day instead of about 10!

Cravings: Sweets, Sweets, all the time

Clothes: it seems to finally be Fall here - wearing jeans and loving it!

Symptoms:  Normal symptoms - tired, cranky, and not as much patience as I usually have

Best moment this week:  When Sage woke up from her nap one afternoon last week I laid down with her to chat and let her wake up slowly.  She wakes up like her Momma!   Well the baby was kicking away and she finally felt the baby move.  She was so excited!   Before she kept saying she could feel the baby move - but I don't think she had.  But this time she really felt the baby and got so excited!

Throwing a pot!

One of the other fun things Sage did at the Art Fair was "Throw a Pot"!  There was a potter there with his clay and two potting wheels.  Sage watched for a little while and then decided she wanted to try it out.  She really seemed to enjoy it and I know Reese really enjoyed watching her!

Art Fair Fun!

Every year we go to an Art Fair at our local Art Musuem.  It was this past weekend and we had such a fun family day.  There were great food vendors, lots of artists, good drinks and a children's area.  We have taken Sage the last four years and she has had so much fun.  This year was no exception! The children's area was filled with so many activities.   Here she is having fun!

She got to paint a mask and a mini canvas.  I think she liked picking her paint colors the best!

She got tons of paint on Reese as he was holding the mask for her.

Playing with play-doh!

She could have stayed at this water station for hours.

Shaving Cream Art - spreading out her shaving cream.

Adding the color to her shaving cream, then she mixed it all together and put a piece of paper on top to absorb all the colors.

Fun Morning at the Museum

We went to the Children's Museum last week and had a great morning.  It was pretty busy in their new exhibit but the rest of the museum wasn't that busy at all.  We got there as soon as the museum opened - so nice to have a membership and be able to go just for a few hours.  We went to the new exhibit and played for a few minutes then took off for the carousel.

Sage didn't want to ride a horse, just sit on the bench next to me.  We had the carousel all to ourselves.  She loved it!

Meijer has a horse like this one and she likes to ride it when we go grocery shopping.  She found out that this horse at the museum goes much faster!

Who knew they had Pac-Man at the Museum - not this Mom.  I loved this game, so I had to introduce Sage to it!

Sitting in the racecar!

After we left the museum we had a picnic lunch in the back of our new minivan.  Sage thought it was so fun to have lunch in the back of the new van.

Trampoline

We have a new addition in the backyard - a trampoline!  Reese took down the old playset and we were going to put up a new playset.  But in the meantime our neighbors are moving and gave us their trampoline.  Sage loves it!  She runs and jumps and gets rid of lots of energy.  Our plan is to put in a new playset in the Spring.

Police Hat

Now that Sage has started school we have the art projects rolling in!  I love seeing all her art projects coming home from school.  Last week she came running out of her classroom in her police hat and a badge sticker.  They learned all about policeman and how they can help you.  I had to remind her that Papa used to be a policeman and she thought that was pretty neat!  Update:  As I was talking to Papa this morning he reminded me that he will always be a policeman - even though he is retired.  I stand corrected!

Daddy's Helper

Anytime Reese has a project that Sage can help with she loves it!  We got a new shop vac last weekend and it needed a little bit of assembly.  She was so excited to help her Daddy out with a project.  I stayed in the other room and just listened as they worked together.  Just popping in once to get this picture.  They are so cute together!

Hair Down

"I want to wear my hair down," this is the request I have been hearing from Sage lately.  But she doesn't like it when her hair gets in her eyes, so she wears either a headband or barrettes.  She has been loving wearing her hair down and so have I - she looks so old with her hair down.  Can't believe she is going to be four soon!

Patterns

I have been working on patterns with Sage.  We have been using pipe cleaners and small  beads and she usually loses interest pretty quickly.  This time she wanted to play with her counting bears and she loved doing patterns with the bears.  We worked on patterns for 30 minutes and she was loving it!   I would create a pattern with the bears and she would repeat it below.

She was pointing at it - like here you go Mom!

Love this smile!

First Day of Preschool Celebration

The first week of preschool each day is only two hours.  On the first day we went out to lunch and got frozen yogurt to celebrate a good first day of school!   We went to Subway for lunch and then had to wait a few minutes after lunch for Orange Leaf to open.  We love Orange Leaf!

Loving her chocolate frozen yogurt with M&M's and sprinkles!

First day of Preschool!

Tuesday, August 20th was the first day of preschool for Sage.  She was so excited to go.  As soon as I got done taking pictures at the house she was ready to leave - even though we had about 15 minutes before we had to leave.  She kept her backpack on until it was time to leave.  She loved her new teachers and has a few friends in her class from last year and said she has already made new friends!

 Ready for her first day!

Waiting to go into her classroom.  She was so excited, she was the first one in the door.  I had to stop her for a hug!

Headband

When we were up at my parents Sage kept asking me if she could wear a headband.  I didn't bring any up north and we only have one at home.  So, on a trip to Target last week we got some headbands.  She had to immediately put one on, right after we checked out.
That afternoon she spilled something on her shirt at lunch and had to change.  She picked a different color shirt so she could wear another new headband!

Homemade Slip N' Slide

I have been getting organized for later in the year when this baby arrives.  So I have been buying ahead for birthdays and have already started my Christmas shopping.  I got a package in the mail last week that had a present for one of our nephews.  After Sage got over the disappointment that the package wasn't for her she turned her attention to the packing  materials.  It was paper all rolled up tight - first she used it as a hula hoop, then it was a noodle for the pool, then it ended up being a slip and slide.  She would run on it and pretend to slide into the water.  LOVE her imagination!

Ice Cream celebration!

Sage had tubes put in her ears at 7 months old.  She hasn't had any ear infections with the tubes in.  When we went to the ENT in February one of the tubes was in her ear canal and one was still in her ear.  He said that if that one didn't come out on its own he would have to go in and get it - which would mean putting Sage under anesthesia.  Something we didn't really want to do again.  Well, a few weeks ago she went to the ENT and we got a good report.  Both tubes were out and in her ear canal.  The doctor did have to use a tool to go in and get the tubes.  Which meant Sage had to lay really still to let him get them out - but she did it!  We celebrated with ice cream with M&M's!  She was to busy eating her ice cream to smile.

Look at all those M&M's - she was loving it!

Zoo Day!

We went to the zoo the week we got back from my parents and had a great morning.  It was a little chilly for a summer morning - felt more like the fall.  Which I was loving!   The last time we were at the zoo and Sage rode the carousel she got really scared.  Happy to report that she loved it this time!!

Love seeing this smile:)
