Our Girl...

This picture says alot about Sage at this age.  She has this cute grin on her face, which she usually does.  She is a very happy toddler.  Did I just call her a toddler - it has hit me lately that my baby is no longer a baby.   She is trying to get at the table and put her sippy cup on a different coaster.  She is always getting into stuff and she is so curious - I love it!  No fear - she looks like she is ready to jump on the end table.  This girl believes that she can do anything and we will be there to help pick her up and help her through.

Expressions

Sage has been making the cutest face and I finally caught the expression Friday morning.  She is so expressive - wonder where she gets that from - maybe Reese?  Each day is so much fun with her and can be trying as well.  Miss Sage is already a stubborn little thing.  This was at the end of breakfast and she was excited that Daddy had just come downstairs.  She loves her Daddy time!

I loved the expression on her face on this one, I had to include it!  Sage's hair is getting so long it is curly in the back and now it is starting to curl up on the sides.  I just love this little one!

No More Bottle...

We were told by our pediatrician that we should stop Sage's bottles by 15 months.  We almost made it!  We got her down to one bottle a day at bedtime.  And then just got stuck there at one bottle a day.  I loved the cuddle time when she would drink her bottle before bedtime (I am pretty sure Reese loved it too!)  Her last bottle was on Tuesday, February 15th before bedtime.  She doesn't seem to miss it and she still gives us some cuddles before bedtime!!  I continue to marvel at how quickly the time goes by.

Sorry I haven't posted in awhile.  Been a busy few days.  This picture was taken up at my parents.  Sage had lots of fun with Nana & Papa.  She was running all over their house with her walker.

Facing Forward...

Last Sunday we switched Sage's car seat around - she is now facing forward.  We waited to turn her around, she seemed fine the way her seat was.  But we knew we had an eight hour car ride (each way) to my parents and thought she would enjoy looking out the front with Reese and I.  She seems to like facing forward.   Time flies - I can't believe how big our girl is!

This was Friday afternoon, we went into town to run a few errands.  Sage wasn't feeling good and we thought a change of scenery would be good for her.  She seemed to enjoy being out for a little while.

Belated Happy Valentine's Day

We took these pictures so I could do a Valentine's Day post.  But when I went to download the pictures, the computer said that the flash card was corrupted.  Enter in some help from my father.  When we got up north he used some software to recover the pictures.  Thanks Dad, for the tech support!   We hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day!  Sage is holding the Valentine's Day card my parents sent her - she had lots of fun opening and playing with the card and the Valentine's Day banner they sent.

Fun with Mommy

I don't get to many shots of Sage and I - here are two good ones.  This was Tuesday night, we were trying to keep Sage happy.  She is getting a tooth in and she was not a happy camper.  She had lots of fun on my shoulders.  I did too - except that she had a really tight grip on my hair!

The closet

Last night we were getting stuff ready for our trip to my parents and Sage wanted to get in on the action.   I was getting our winter coats out of the closet and Sage decided to take a seat in our extra booster seat.  She had so much fun sitting in there and playing!

15 Month Update

Amazing that Sage is now 15 months old!  We had her 15 month check up on Monday and Sage is doing great.  She now weighs 21lbs, 8 oz (29th percentile), she is 31 inches tall (69th percentile), and her head is in the 97th percentile.  Our girl is getting so big!   She is jabbering all the time, words she says:  Daddy, Mama, Papa, Uh-Oh, yes, cheese, and pizza.   She says Daddy alot and I get about three Mama's a week.  She is walking all over the place with her walker and she can walk across the room when she wants to.  She just hasn't decided that it is time to fully walk yet!  She does two signs "more" and "all done" lately she does more all the time and I have to figure out what she wants more of - it doesn't always mean more food!  Sage is starting to eat more fruits and vegetables.  Her favorite foods are:  cheese, green beans, avocados, mandarin oranges, eggs, veggie straws, gerber fruit sticks, wrap sandwiches and peanut butter toast.

Fun Valentine's Day Dessert

We had our playgroup this week and I tried out a new dessert.  Nothing like trying out a new dessert for a big group of people - glad it turned out o.k.!  I had alot of fun making it and I was happy with how it turned out.  It is even a low-fat dessert.  I thought it turned out pretty good.  Reese is traveling and gets home today.  We are super excited to see him!  I saved one of the heart desserts for him but it broke into two in the fridge.  I bet it will taste just as good as if it was whole!

Getting closer to walking...

I took this video on Monday afternoon.  Sage had a great afternoon nap and we were playing.  But all she wanted to do was walk.  So walk she did - with just a little assistance.   Here is our soon to be walker!

Cabinet...

I am not sure what it is about cabinets and Sage - she loves them.  Her favorite spot in the house these days is in front of this cabinet.  She pulls everything out and then plays with it on the floor, then puts stuff in the cabinet and then pulls it out.  While I was cooking the other day she sat there and played for fifteen minutes at the cabinet.   I love that she explores everything and is so curious!   I love you curious girl!!!

I love the look on her face in this one!

We are trying to get Sage to drink out of sippy cups like this one.  She usually will only use one with a straw.

Football

While we were putting the basement back together, Sage found something she really enjoyed!   Our football container that when you push a button the FOX football theme plays.  She was loving it!  We still have some things left to do in the basement but it is almost done.  The basement was flooded back in June and we have repainted it, got new carpet installed, and took down a wall to increase the size of the basement.   Glad to have it almost done!

This morning

We put up Sage's new rocking horse last night.  And she loves it!   I will get some pictures of her on it this weekend.  She liked it so much she thought she would take a ride on Daddy this morning!  She was rocking back and forth like she was on her horse.  It was too cute!   I just had to get a picture.  We got snow on top of the ice this morning.  We are expecting 2-4 inches.  Luckily we got the driveway cleared of ice and a big section of sidewalk.  Not fun clearing all that ice - but it was a good workout!

Ice Storm: Playtime

Yesterday all of the local schools were closed so we had Kylie and Cole over to play with Sage.  She had so much fun and giggled almost the entire time they were here.  Kylie and Cole are so good with Sage and we are so lucky to have them as friends of our family!

Ice Storm: Day One

Well the ice storm started last evening.  Right after dinner I started getting a few things together just in case the power went out.  Our luck is still holding and the power is still on - I am keeping my fingers crossed!   The ice continued to come throughout the night and then turned to sleet.  We have about an inch of the two on the ground.  The neighborhood kids are playing hockey in the cul-de-sac - on skates!  That is how much ice we have and more is coming.  Here are a few pictures from today.

This section took me thirty minutes of working the ice free and then shoveling it off the driveway.  I came to the conclusion I prefer snow shoveling over ice removal.

This is a close up of our lilac tree with a coating of ice.

This is one of our shrubs by the front porch - totally ice covered.
