Disney on Ice

Sage and I went to Disney on Ice on Sunday night.  It was a fun Mommy-Daughter date!  We went downtown early to have dinner and Sage refused to eat.   She said she wasn't hungry - as soon as we walked into the arena she was asking for me to buy her a snack.  Lucky for her I had packed a few healthy snacks in my bag.  She was able to pick out one souvenir.  She chose an Ariel figurine.   Each new act that came out she loved!  Jasmine and Ariel were her favorite princesses in the show.

This was at dinner - at least she was happy coloring.

Showing off her new toy.

She wanted to go out on the ice.

Under the Sea - one of her favorite songs.

Sleep makes it better!

I am finally feeling like I have a handle on things around here.   Getting some sleep has been a huge help.  I no longer have to go to bed before Sage does.   Now that Quinn is sleeping better I can actually stay up and spend time with Sage and Reese.  It has been nice feeling like I can function again!  Sage told me she misses me even though we are around each other almost 100% of the time. So I am trying to do something special with her each day.  We were playing around the other morning and taking funny pictures.  She was loving it!

Headband

I had to share this picture of Quinn even though she wasn't the happiest.  This was Friday morning and we had just had the best night of sleep yet.  She went 6 hours between feedings that meant I got 5 straight hours of sleep!!!!   It was time for Quinn to eat again and she was not happy that I was getting a picture of her with her headband on.  Well the headband didn't last long.  Just like her sister she is in the top of the charts for her head size at the 90th percentile.  Five minutes of having her headband on she already had a mark on her head from it.  No headbands for this girl!

Sleeping

Here is Quinn sleeping away during the late afternoon.  She sleeps downstairs throughout the day as well as in her crib.  We are trying to get her used to her crib for when she transitions in there full time.  She has started to sleep a little better.  I feed her around 10pm and then she is usually up around 1am and then anywhere from 4am - 6am.  I can function on this sleep!  I have still been going to bed in the early evening to get a few hours of sleep.

Happy Birthday Mimi!

We hope you have a great day Mimi!   Sending you birthday wishes from your girls.

We got out the playmat for Quinn and as you can see Sage had to show her how to use it!

Big Helper

We are slowly getting into a routine as a family of four.  I am starting to get a little more sleep!   Sage has been a huge help with Quinn.  She loves to help out and always asks what can she do.  Earlier this week I asked her to come to the table for dinner and she said she was busy.

She was busy changing her baby.

And feeding her baby.  I love this one - she is sitting where I sit to feed Quinn.  She has the boppy, the burp cloth, and the cup is her bottle for her baby.  Apparently she has seen lots of diaper changes and way to many feeding sessions!

Second Haircut

A big thanks goes out to Bev for setting us up with a new hair stylist.  She comes to our house and only charges $10 for kids haircuts!  That is a win-win in my book - Thanks Bev!  Last week Tori came over and cut Sage's hair.  It was only Sage's second haircut and she got 4 inches cut off!

She asked for a braid and then wanted to see it.  But she couldn't see it in a mirror so I took a picture for her!   She loved her braid!

Painting in the snow!

A few weeks ago we got over a foot of snow.  It was so much fun to watch Sage play out in the snow.  But then the Polar Vortex took hold and it was too cold to go outside.  With the wind chill it was -40!  So we brought the snow inside - a friend gave me the idea!  Reese went out and filled the pyrex with snow and Sage painted away.  Reese got her a syringe out and a bowl of water and she had fun putting that in the snow as well.  Painting in the snow kept her busy for an hour.  I think her favorite part was when Reese dumped the snow onto the patio and she could see her artwork.  It lasted for almost a week with the cold temperatures and when it got warmer she was very disappointed it was gone.

One month

It is hard to believe that one month has passed since Quinn was born.  Maybe it has gone so fast due to lack of sleep!  We had a few rough weeks with Quinn not gaining weight as fast as she should have.   We have been supplementing with bottles and she has packed on the ounces!  She was up lots during the night and it has slowly been getting better.  I have been going to sleep at 7pm for 3-4 hours and then Reese hands her off to me for the night shift. Maybe soon she will have her nights/days switched.  Quinn is smiling lots and exploring with her voice. It is so fun to see Sage help out with Quinn.  Sage is my big helper!  It has been a fun first month and we can't wait to see what the next months hold for us!

New hat

Sage got this new hat from Pam and Brian.  She has been loving this hat and wearing it in the house.  It is a flippy hat - you squeeze the hat and the tails flips up.  She loves it!

Stuck at home

We have been sticking close to home these days.  With the bad snowstorm last week and even worse roads we were stuck in the house for almost a week.  Reese worked from home for a few days and then was able to get to the office the rest of the week.  It was a long week at home with very cold weather.  Here is a picture of our girls one morning while we were stuck at home!

Baking Bread with Papa!

Papa has a new hobby - baking bread!   It is so good!  Sage tried his homemade bread on our last trip up north and that is all she asks for now.  She loves Papa's homemade bread and so do we!  She kept asking to make bread with Papa.  So she got to help Papa make a batch of bread while he was here over Christmas.  She was so excited to help!

Here are some of my favorites from Quinn's newborn pictures and the family pictures.  We got so many good pictures.  I am having a hard time figuring out which ones to print!

Gingerbread House

We have decorated a gingerbread house for the last three years.  It is one of our Christmas traditions!  It usually ends up being Reese and Sage decorating and I end up taking pictures. I had to hunt around the house for more candy.  Need to remember next year to buy more candy as the kits never come with enough!  I got this kit at Kroger and it was the best kit yet!

The finished product!

Christmas cookies with Nana

I didn't make any Christmas cookies this Christmas, so it was Nana to the rescue!   She and Sage had lots of fun making cookies while Nana was visiting.  Sage loved that we had an apron for each of them!

Sage and Santa

Our local library has a great Santa and they let you schedule a visit and bring your own camera.  Works for us!  Sage's visit with Santa was the afternoon we came home from the hospital.  Nana and Daddy took her to see Santa.  The library had some Christmas coloring pages out for the kids to do while they waited for Santa and Sage was coloring away!   Then it was her turn to see Santa and she did great!

Sage meets Quinn!

It was so nice that Nana and Papa stayed home with Sage while we went to the hospital.  She was able to have some time with them before they brought her to the hospital.  We called them with the news that Sage had a little sister!   She was so excited that we had a girl! We sent them a picture and Sage looked at it all the way to the hospital and kept telling Nana that Quinn was beautiful.  They brought me flowers and Sage handed them to me and said "Where's the baby?"   So cute!  She was so good meeting Quinn for the first time.  She immediately wanted to hold her.

Opening her big sister present from us - a Pandora bracelet with a pumpkin charm.  Reese calls Sage pumpkin so it was a perfect charm to get her and I love that we can add charms to it.

One of the presents from Bev and Tracey!

A present from Nana and Papa!  She loved coming to the hospital she got all these presents!

Papa, Sage and Quinn - he now has another girl to spoil:)

Our two girls - LOVE!

First picture as a family of four!

The only picture of us before we left the hospital.  We were so ready to get home.  Three nights in the hospital was enough.
