Not so hot...

Sage and Reese both aren't feeling well.  We are propping Sage up to sleep since she is so congested.  Here she is below, taking a nap in the pack and play, propped up on the boppy.  We hope she gets better quickly and Reese feels better too.  Have a wonderful New Year's Eve - we will be relaxing at home and hopefully all be asleep when 2010 rings in.

Sisters and Cousins

What a great way to spend the holidays!  We had a great time at Shelley and Tyler's house.  The cousins got to celebrate their first Christmas together.  The first of many holidays they will get to celebrate together.  What a fun time we had!

Sage has a better Christmas wardrobe than me!   Here is another one of her adorable outfits - this one from Aunt Terri.

Here is a picture of Brady and Sage in their outfits from Melissa.  Sage was a little sleepy!  Thank you both for such cute outfits!

Thanks!

We were all spoiled this year for Christmas - especially Sage!   Thank you to everyone for all the wonderful presents!
Here is a picture of Sage with a gift from Mimi and Pop-pop.  This bear was given to Sage so they can see how big she is getting.  So here is one of many pictures of Sage and her bear.

2009 Review #3 - Changes

It is amazing how many things changed in 2009.  The first picture was taken at my parents last year when we celebrated Christmas.  The second picture was taken this year at Christmas.  Last year at Christmas we had no idea what 2009 had in store for us - that we would become parents, that Reese would face a medical emergency and be here to share his story with us all.  What an amazing and miraculous year 2009 has been.  We are glad to see 2009 come to a close and look forward to all the great things 2010 will bring.

Merry Christmas Eve!

We hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas!

2009 Review # 2 - Big & Little Miracle

2009 has been filled with miracle's - I have two, one big and one little.  My big miracle is my wonderful husband, Reese and my little miracle is our daughter Sage.  What a crazy fall we had.  When Reese had his aneurysm our world was turned upside down. On the night of August 27th, I was 29 weeks pregnant and sleeping peacefully when Reese came rushing into the room telling me he had chest pains and to call 911.  He doesn't remember much after that.  I will never forget those 7 days until he woke up - they were the longest 7 days of my life.  We are very lucky that we have amazing friends and family that were here to help us through.  Family all rushed here to be with us.  My parents, Reese's parents, his brother Russ (who was my rock during his week at the hospital), my sister Shelley and her family.  Corvin was a good distraction for us all.  The countless friends that came to the hospital to support us - especially Kelly and Jason, Melissa and Patty.  There are many little miracles that happened to help Reese through this - the ER doctor that knew he didn't have the tools to help Reese and called the helicopter to transport Reese to Methodist Hospital,  the amazing surgeon that was on call that night, the skilled nursing staff that took care of him in ICU for 10 days.  But the most important is Reese and his determination that he was going to make a full recovery.  He is well on his way and I am so proud of him and all that he has overcome to get to where he is now.  He is finishing up Cardiac Rehab and is back at work.  Looking at him you would never know the trauma he experienced this fall.  What an amazing man he is and I am so lucky to call him my husband!   I  love you Reese!

2009 Review #1: Pregnant Twins

I have decided to do some 2009 Year in Review posts.  This is the first one - being pregnant at the same time as my twin!

It was an amazing experience to be pregnant and even more amazing and fun that Shelley was pregnant at the same time as well.  As twins we do most things at the same time, but this was pretty extreme!

We got to experience the rollercoaster of pregnancy together - the morning sickness, cravings and the wonderful anticipation of our little ones.  This being Shelley's second pregnancy she was a wonderful resource for me.  I can't tell you the countless phone calls that I made to her with my numerous questions.  She was very patient with  me and a wealth of knowledge - she continues to answer my questions now that Sage has arrived.   Let me tell you, I have lots of questions!!

We were very lucky throughout our pregnancy that we were able to see each other quite a bit.  Here are some pictures that were taken through the weeks.  Hope you enjoy!

Shelley at 21 weeks and Sara at 18 weeks

Relaxing at Grandpa's cottage in Curtis, MI - Shelley 26 weeks, Sara 23 weeks.

At our parents - Shelley 26 weeks, Sara 23 weeks.  This is my favorite shot of the two of us pregnant!

This was at my first Baby Shower on August 8th, Shelley 29 weeks, Sara 26 weeks.

This was at my 2nd Baby Shower on August 23rd, Shelley 31 weeks, Sara 28 weeks.

What fun 40 weeks it was to be pregnant the same time as my twin!

Visitors

The Hubbards were here for a visit this past week.  It was great to see them.  We had a relaxing few days and enjoyed some quality family time.  Sage enjoyed seeing Mimi and Pop-Pop!  Here are a few pictures from their days with us.

Stockings!

We got Sage's Christmas stocking yesterday and I couldn't wait to put it up with ours!  I am so excited to see it hanging up there with ours.  Here is a picture of the mantle decorated for the holiday.  So special to have our first Christmas as a family!

Christmas Cheer

We had visitors yesterday and they came with many gifts!  Jason and Kelly were over and brought a bunch of Christmas Cheer - a tree, lights, and a tree stand.  We now have a beautifully decorated tree, garland on the banisters, and decorations around the house.  We want to thank Kelly and Jason for helping make Sage's first Christmas so special!

Three Weeks Old

Our little angel was three weeks old yesterday.  She gets more precious as each day passes.  We are totally in love with her - just hoping she gets nights and days in the right order!

This is one of many Christmas outfits that Sage has, this one courtesy of the Hubbards!

Thank You!

There has been an abundance of cards and gifts that have been sent to Sage.  She is so lucky to have you all out there that care about her.  We are so thankful to each of you for taking the time to send a card or a gift.  I have been trying to be good about getting the thank you notes out in a timely manner.  Hopefully, if you sent a gift you have received your thank you note!  Thanks for being so good to us!

Our Little Turkey

Here is Sage on Thanksgiving, dressed for the occasion:)   The turkey bib was a gift from the Hubbard's.  We had a good night last night and I got two stretches of 3 hours of sleep!  Amazing how good you feel after some sleep.  We tried tummy time for the first this morning and it was a success!  Hope you all are having a good Tuesday.
