A Boat Ride

We went to the Island while we were at my parents.  Sage's favorite part was the boat ride.  We sat upstairs on both trips.  We even got to go out under the Mackinac Bridge on the way to the Island.  It was a beautiful sunny day and it was in the low 70's.  We went to the Butterfly House, walked around the Island and got some ice cream.  When we got on the boat Sage saw the pilothouse and immediately said she wanted to drive!   She got to on the way back.  She even got to sit in the Captain's chair and help steer!

Sage and I enjoying the boat ride.

 What a view!

Waiting to go into the Butterfly House.

 Sage waiting to drive.

Thanks to Captain Mark, Sage got to help steer the boat!

Bench

My parents have this bench on their front porch.  It is the perfect size for the kids.  Sage has been loving it all week.  She took a rest on it before we went on a walk yesterday morning.

Feeding the Chickens!

We went over to the Gourd Barn yesterday.  My Mom's friend Clarlyn runs it, she has gourd classes, and raises chickens and pheasants.  Sage loved it - so did I!  She collected an egg from the chickens, fed the chickens and she got to pet the baby pheasants - they were only 10 days old.

Special Visit

Here is a picture from our visit with my Grandpa this week.  Sage had so much fun running around and checking the house out.  Her favorite thing was Grandpa's binoculars.  She told me she saw giraffes, elephants and monkeys through them!

A morning with Papa!

Yesterday morning my Mom had a meeting so Sage, Papa and I were on our own.  We went for a walk around the neighborhood and then went into town.  We went to a park so Sage could run around.  It is right on the water and it was a beautiful sunny day.  What a great spot we have here to vacation!  Sage had fun on the playground - she wasn't to sure about the slides, but she finally found one that she would go down.  Her favorite part of the morning was throwing rocks into the water with Papa.  Then we went out on the dock to throw rocks and she was in heaven.  She liked to see the big splash from throwing the rocks into the water!  We then walked over to the marina and she was so excited to see all the boats.

Bean Bag Game/Cornhole

Who knew how much fun it could be to throw a bean bag around?  Well, Sage had a blast throwing the bean bags.  At first she was right on top of the board dropping the bag in, then Nana got her to step back and actually throw the bag into the hole.  Here is our Bean Bag Pro!

Golfing

We spent the morning and early afternoon visiting with my Grandpa.  We also picked up Sage's dress for my cousins wedding in August.  Sage is going to be the flower girl and she looks so cute in her dress!  When we got back it was time for some fun outside!  Turns out golfing in Nana and Papa's yard is lots of fun.

We made it!

We are at my parents!   After a 10 hour day in the car yesterday - we finally made it.  Sage was so good in the car.  Half way here we stopped to see Amy Sue, Grant, Ethan and Garrett.  It was a great visit, Sage had tons of fun playing with the boys, we got to see their beautiful home and Amy Sue made a fabulous lunch! After lunch when we pulled away Sage asked me when she was going to go back to Ethan's house!   Too cute!!!   Sage took a good nap in the car and when we were pulling down Napa & Papa's street Sage was yelling "I so excited!"  She was bouncing off the walls when we got here - running all over and getting into everything.  She finally settled down at 9pm, one tired girl.

Here she is doing activities with Nana this morning.

Morning at the Pool!

We spent this morning at morning at the pool.  It was already 74 degrees at 7am so I knew it would be a good morning to go.  It was beautiful, the sun was shining, there was a nice breeze, and some great friends to enjoy the morning!  Stephanie, JJ, Aubrie, Danielle, and Miranda joined us for a fun morning.  We spent a lot of time in the big pool.  The three little ones did so well in the big pool - Sage loved swimming with Miranda.

She was so hungry for a snack she couldn't even stop to smile!

Miranda and Sage enjoying the sun!

When we went back to the kiddie pool Miranda was laying out catching some sun.  So Sage wanted to as well.  I dragged over this sun chair so she could sit next to Miranda it was so cute!

New Headphones!

We are getting ready to go to Texas in a few weeks to visit Mimi and Pop-Pop.  We will be boarding an airplane for the trip.  The last time we were on an airplane Sage was really good.  She watched a bunch of her shows on the DVD player but she couldn't hear them very well since it was so loud on the plane.  I ordered her a pair of headphones for the trip and she couldn't wait to try them out.  They went into her basket of prizes for potty training.  She kept asking for the headphones, we had to keep reminding her that once she got ten stickers on the potty chart she could pick them as her prize!   Well, Sunday afternoon she got to pick a prize and she picked her headphones.  She had to try them out right away - she loved them!

Father's Day Project

I tried to do another painting project with Sage and she actually enjoyed it this time!  For Mother's Day the painting was a disaster.  But it worked out well for our Father's Day project.  This time instead of dunking Sage's hand in paint I took a paintbrush and painted her hand.  She seemed to like this much better and there wasn't as much paint on her hand.  She had fun making the sailboats for Papa and Pop-Pop for Father's Day.  Love our craft time together!

Father's Day Gift

Sage and I had fun putting together Reese's Father's Day gift.  I got the letters to spell out "DAD" and took pictures of Sage holding the letters.   I put them in a frame for Reese.  It turned out really cute - thanks to Pinterest for the cute idea.  Here are the pictures I used.

End of the day

This is how we end our day - watching an episode of Einsteins and cuddling with our girl.  What could be better!  Reese got home this morning and Sage and I are both excited to have him back home.  He left on Monday after dinner and took a very early flight to be back this morning.  Glad he is home so we can celebrate Father's Day this weekend.

We met at the zoo for playgroup this morning.  It was a beautiful morning, the sun was out and there was a light breeze.  We had a great time with all the kiddos!   I remembered my camera to capture the fun!

We went for a walk this morning and played at the playground.  When we got home I got out all the stuff for Sage to paint.  She had so much fun!   I am so glad she enjoyed it.  The last time we painted was a disaster.  But this time she loved it!

Beautiful Day!

It was such a beautiful day here yesterday.  It was a pretty hot day - giving us a taste of what summer will be like.  Sage and I enjoyed a walk in the morning and then the playground.  She had so much fun at the playground.  I love chasing her all over!   Before we left for our walk I snapped a few pictures.  She had on a new outfit and looked so cute!

Look how long her hair is - I didn't realize how long it actually was since she is in a ponytail most days!

Pigtails!

I have had so much fun with Sage and her hair - it is getting so long.   She let me put pigtails in the other day and I thought it was so cute.  I had to get a few pictures!  She wasn't in the mood to get her picture taken.  She even went and hid behind her princess trunk filled with dress-up clothes.  Reese helped me out and tried to get her to sit still long enough for me to get a good picture.  This is the best of what was taken.

Tape

We are getting new countertops for the kitchen and maybe an island.  Reese taped off where the island would be so we could see how big it would be.  While he had the tape out Sage was wanting to see it.  So he took the tape and put some letters on the floor for her.  She had so much fun hopping from letter to letter.  He would call out a letter and she would hop to that letter.  The letters are still on our floor!

Just like Daddy!

Saturday afternoon we were getting ready to go run errands and Reese was wearing a Chicago Bears t-shirt.  Sage took off her shirt and told me she wanted a Chicago Bears shirt too.  Luckily I found one for her to wear.  She was so excited to wear a shirt like Daddy's!  Thanks Crystal and Andy for all the Bears gear!

Potty Training

Big day in our house yesterday - Sage started potty training.  When Sage woke up she came into our room to watch the news and a show.  While her show was on Reese and I both dozed off!  When we woke up she had her diaper off.  I told her I needed to put it back on - she said NO.  I told her she would need to wear her undies and she said YES!  She only had one accident and had fun wearing her Minnie Mouse underwear.  We shall see how this potty training goes - wish us luck!

Braids

Sage usually only lets me put a bow in her hair or put it in a ponytail - well last week she finally let us braid it!  We had to bribe her with Orange Chips=Doritos!  She didn't want to sit still but I told her she would get some orange chips and she immediately stopped moving.   Reese braided one side and I did the other - have to admit his braid was better!  Here is our cute girl in braids:)

 She loves her orange chips!
