Smart Girl

This girl keeps me on my toes.  This picture is from Tuesday morning.  She had gotten one of her wipes and was wiping down the shopping cart.  She must be paying attention at the grocery store when I wipe down the cart.  Smart and observant girl!

Love from Aunt Shelley!

Aunt Shelley sent the girls a Valentine's Day present.  Sage was so excited to get mail!  They did pretty good opening the package and card together.  Thanks for the new socks Aunt Shelley!

Snowshoeing

Friday afternoon while I was at my parents we went snowshoeing!  Dad stayed home while Quinn napped and Mom and I went out for an hour of snowshoeing.  I loved it!   It was a beautiful day with a gorgeous view of the shoreline.  It was definitely a workout - and a good one!  I think Reese and I need to invest in some snowshoes for the whole family!

Time with Papa

This past weekend Quinn and I went up north to my parents.  I wanted to go visit my Grandpa and I also had a baby shower to go to.  Quinn and I got Sage on the bus Friday morning and took off.  We made it to my parents in just under four hours.  We only made one quick stop for a coffee - I was a little tired and needed some caffeine.  Our friend Julie got Sage off the bus that afternoon and then Reese picked her up there.   Quinn was all about Papa this weekend.  She was his shadow - it was so cute!  It was a good thing she was all about Papa because he babysat her all day Saturday.  My Mom and I headed out and Papa and Quinn bonded!  They danced, played in the snow, went for a walk and had tons of fun!  I think Papa was a little tired!  Thank you Dad!   I was able to have a nice visit with Grandpa and go to the baby shower and enjoy myself.  Getting to spend some time with my Mom one-on-one was nice too!

Dolls!

This girl is all about her baby dolls!  We have them all over the house.  One in her crib, one in the car, and a bunch of dolls in the playroom.  She loves to change their diapers (using her real diapers & wipes), take them for walks in her stroller and carry them around with her.  And as you can see below she snuggles with them too!

So big!

Sage had Monday off from school.  It was nice to have her home for the day.  She told me she wanted to go to the aquarium for the day.  So we did!  We did a little shopping as well and stopped to have a snack.  I snapped this picture of her and she looks so big to me.

Late Breakfast

Quinn hasn't been eating much the last few weeks.  She is getting her last of the 2-year molars and it is taking forever to get through her gums.  Besides her lack of appetite she has also been a little cranky.  On this particular morning last week she refused to eat breakfast.  That is until I was at the counter making a protein shake.  She dragged a chair over to the counter to help me and discovered her uneaten breakfast.  She proceeded to eat all her eggs and then drank half my protein shake!

Two Front Teeth

Sage was a few weeks late for "all I want for Christmas is my two front teeth!"  Her tooth was so loose and she wouldn't let us pull it.  One of the roots was hanging for a few weeks.  Her tooth finally fell out last week.  She now has a very big gap waiting for the teeth to come in.  She was very excited for the tooth fairy to visit again.  This makes a total of five teeth that Sage has lost. 

Designer

Sage was given this fashion design kit for Christmas a few years ago.  She loved it and continues to use it.  Quinn found it last week and has been using it ever since!  She loves it too! 

Snuggles

The girls were watching a show with Reese.  When I walked in the room and saw this, I had to take a picture.  Daddy snuggles are the best!  Quinn lately will ask you to "nuggle"  her version of snuggle!  It is so cut when she asks to "nuggle"

Puppet Show

Last weekend Reese and I went out for dinner and a movie.  We had a new babysitter watch the girls.  Her name is Kristen and the girls loved her!   She arrived when Quinn was napping so she and Sage did some crafts.  One of those crafts was making puppets!  Sage loved them and loved even more that she got to put on a puppet show for us the next day.  Kristen is already scheduled for our next date night!

Q-Tip Painting

Sunday we were in the house all day!  It was freezing rain and then snow throughout the night.  That morning the wind picked up to 40mph gusts.  A good day to stay home!  We played, danced, did crafts, watched a movie and baked cookies!  We had to keep these girls entertained or it would have been a very long day!  This was the first time that Quinn had used q-tips to paint and she seemed to like it.  Sage is a big fan of painting like this as well.

Accessories

Quinn is sitting in the doll stroller she got for Christmas.  She likes to climb in it and I am waiting for the day for it to topple over with her in it!  Maybe then she won't climb in it!  She loves this Cinderella dress and wears it all the time!    She put the hat on her puppy Lucy and then grabbed the sunglasses.  Not sure if there are anymore accessories she could fit on at one time!

Making Cards

Sage was getting all creative this past weekend making Great Grandma a birthday card.  I realized I was a little late in getting a card for Great Grandma so Sage decided to make her one!  She had fun decorating it and writing out the song Happy Birthday (she spelled all the words on her own - correctly!)  Love our creative girl!

Last Thursday

We had a busy week last week with school starting back up.  It was nice to get back into a routine.  I had to wake Sage up a few mornings last week before school.  Quinn was up at her usual time!  Quinn had her 2 year appointment on Thursday no stats to report as they didn't give me any!  We waited for over an hour for the doctor and this was only our second time at this office and we will be looking for a new pediatrician.  Quinn got two shots and was a champ!  Only a few tears and she was fine.  The below pictures were all taken on Thursday afternoon.  She woke up very happy after her nap!

Vacuums!

Quinn and Sage both like to help me clean the house.  I know I should enjoy this now as it will definitely change in the future.  Eventually helping clean the house will be one of their chores!  I was vacuuming earlier this week and Quinn got out her own vacuum to help me! 

Coloring & Dresses

Both girls love to color - Sage likes to use crayons and Quinn usually likes to use a pen!  We spent a night over break coloring.  It was also the same day that Quinn wanted to dress up in a princess costume for the first time.  She has been wearing this costume all the time, all over the house!  Love this stage! 

Playfoam

Sage asked for this playfoam for Christmas.  She had played with it at school and really had fun with it.  It is like playdoh but it isn't as sticky and won't get smushed into your carpets.  Works for me!  Both girls seemed to enjoy it but it didn't keep Quinn's attention for long.

New Years Day 2016

We all slept in on the first day of 2016!   Quinn was up at 7:30am and Sage at 8:00am!   It was fabulous being able to sleep in.  We had a nice morning at home and I made french toast.  It might have been the first time Quinn had french toast and she loved it!  Reese and I had mimosas using the champagne that we were supposed to use to cheer in 2016 the night before.  We took the tree down that afternoon and put all the rest of the Christmas decorations away.  I always hate to take the decorations down - the house looks so empty. 

NYE 2015

New Years Eve 2015 was spent at home with our girls!  That morning we went to an indoor playground and met one of Quinn's friends there and the kids ran off some energy.  When they were done playing Reese took Quinn home and Sage and I met Michelle for lunch and a movie.  We had a nice afternoon!   When Sage and I got home I threw together some appetizers for dinner and Reese and I had a cocktail!   I took a little nap after that and was ready to go!   We had our own countdown at 7:00 for the girls with noisemakers and poppers.  They loved it!  Reese and I stayed up until 11:00 - even after a little nap I still didn't make it up until midnight.  Maybe next year!

Christmas Morning

We had a very relaxing Christmas morning at home! Tons of presents to be opened and a Telescope for Sage and a water table for Quinn!  We came downstairs at 6:45am and opened presents, then took a break for breakfast and opened more presents and stockings. 

This is for her dolls but Quinn kept climbing in it!
